YOU: Loving the Animals
Posted 03-10-2008 at 12:53 PM by jezzie
Binti Jua , a gorilla in the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, put her maternal feelings of protection into action when
a three year old boy fell into the gorilla exhibit.
Binti rushed over to the child and cradled and comforted him, keeping him safe from less-friendly gorillas.
The boy spent a few days in hospital and then was released.
Binti's Aunt, Koko, lives at the Gorilla Foundation in Woodside, California. She is famous for her extensive knowledge of American Sign Language, which she uses to communicate with humans and her Gorilla-friend, Michael.
