I know this is a weight-loss community, but I need to share this "somewhere" and you guys are it-LOL.
I am taking Chantix and quit smoking on Memorial Day. Day 1 was not bad, yesterday, day 2, totally sucked! I was a ciggy craving fool all day. Today however, I only had a couple of grit my teeth cravings, so I'm going to say I'm getting there!
I've also been having the vivid (technicolor?) dreams/nightmares that come with the Chantix, {sigh}. I'll finish it out for the month and then only take it in the mornings and see if that helps my sleep while still helping me remain a non-smoker.
Anyhow, how this relates to LCF is that now I'm going to be worrying about gaining back the 40 lbs I've lost...I might start a journal and mention this? Suppose that would be acceptable? I guess somebody will let me know after it's out there...;o)
Well, there's my first blog entry EVER. How 'bout THEM apples?

Plenty of people on this site are battling addictions of all sorts! Food is the major one, but usually accompanied by other addictions! I'm also battling an adiction to smoking and caffeine! Starting a weight loss program while quitting is a great idea!! It'll help you stay on track of your goals without falling off the tracks somewhere along the line!
I'm not sure what your diet is like right now, however Vit C is a major cleanser! Drink lots of OJ as it dramatically helps cleanse the system and cuts back on cravings!!! Also, I find water, water, water flushes the system as well! To help me with cravings, I brush my teeth a lot because I hate the flavor of minty butts!! Maybe something like that would help! Check out the recipes on this site and incorporate them into you diet for the time being so that way if you get the munchies, they'll be healthy!!! The other thing I find helpful is Pink Lemonade or Lemonade (Crystal Light or Wylers). I drink it frequently. I think because it's so sweet and a bit sour, it turns my cravings around! Good luck and keep us posted! |
