Confusing Day

Today has been great. Got up and didn't waste any time. Got my stuff, made and packed breakfast, drank my coffee and I was out the door. I did cardio 45 minutes
20 minutes elliptical
10 minutes running 1 incline more per minute so by minute 10 I was on 10% incline running 4.2 miles per hour
Then I walked incline 10-15 percent 3.2-3.8 mph
finally stair machine (not stairmaster) for 5 minutes on level 5-6 speed. Finished up with ab work.
Went home felt great! Got my plants planted - finally!
Went to a raw food class today and that is where I got overwhelmed. I am not too overwhelmed but I thought I knew a lot about health. Apparently I was wrong. The learning experience neve seems to end. I didn't even know you have to spout your almonds before you eat them!!!!
I get home and feel like trashing all my food. I look at dairy now and I want to barf. I still enjoy it and even had cheese for dinner but feel terrible for not eating food properly. I'm starting to wonder, "why put this in my body if it does no good to my health?"
My raw friends drink this shake in the morning called Green Lemonade:
Makes 1 Serving
1 Head of Romaine Lettuce or Celery
5 to 6 stalks of Kale (any type)
1 to 2 Apples (as needed for sweetness - I recommend Organic Fuji)
1 Whole Organic Lemon (you don’t have to peel it)
1 to 2 inches fresh ginger (optinal)
Process the vegetables in a juicer
Pour into a large glass, and drink!
You're body detoxes after a week on this and you start feeling really sick. it takes a while for the toxins to get out. They even said to put cilantro in it as it is the best detox ingredient. I really need to talk to Fawn. She seems pretty smart.
I need a juicer one and two, I'll have to cut out the apples. The lady who runs the raw food group so nice and very smart. She eats 99% raw and even wants to sell her own food wholesale!!! She has a lot of great recipes too.
The raw food thing doesn't work well when I eat so much meat. I try to eat most of my veggies raw.
Anyway, that was my day. My carbs were a bit over but all of them were from veggies. I only tried 2 of the dressings at the raw food thing today because I didn't want to go over calorie and carb wise. I just ate the raw veggies instead.
Oh, I bought a Westinghouse SaladXPress Salad Spinner on craigslist today. thought I was getting a good deal because I talked the guy down $5. Little did I know that he only paid $10 for it (found a sticker on theh bottom) on clearance and he charged me $20!!!! What a rip!!! It doesn't even work very well and I feel like I just wasted $20. :-(
Sorry for not having time to read anyone else's blog. I'm trying to learn all this stuff at once. Raw foods, sewing, reading about the anabolic diet, and planning my workouts.
btinc wants me to go 12 full days low carbs. Twyla recommended this too. I think I'm going to do it even if I'm lacking energy. I need to detox. I feel like a loser because I ate a container of yogurt last night. I wanted something sweet and I couldn't fall asleep so I ate some. :-( Not sure if the yogurt exception applies but this was my second container of the day. I did great calorie wise yesterday though. Those extra bike rides at night really help. I can't belive I burn 400 some calories in one hour. The time just seems to fly when I'm out on my bike.
Tomorrow is leg day. :-) My most challenging but most rewarding workout.

Hey Miss Feather! How ya doin'?
Thanks! Well, I created an excel spreadsheet with a worksheet tab for each week. I enter the TOTAL of each day's macros into FitDay to get the final percentages. I prefer keeping my food lists in Excel over FitDay; just easier for me. I'd be happy to share my spreadsheet with ya. Just let me know. I hear ya on lower BF%. I want that too! I'm at 30% right now. ![]() Would love to be 20-25%. I think aiming for a reasonably lower BF% is a good goal. I just hope you won't worry too much about your actual body weight. When you're changing the composition of your body, those numbers on the scale are pretty meaningless. So don't be a slave to the scale. ![]() Besides, you're young & beautiful & muscular! ![]() PS: The Fawn Shake was pretty tasty! There was one funky taste I didn't care for; I may try to isolate that and leave it out next time. I haven't yet tallied the macros of my slightly revised version of Fawn's Shake Recipe - when I do that tomorrow (or Monday) I will share the info with you. You sound like me, I'd probably eat cardboard if it had amazing nutritional value! But ACV right out of the bottle?? WHY?? Quote:

I know I"m a healthy weight but my goal is to get to a lower body fat %. I am 20.8% and want to get to 15-18%. Last year I was 14%. Of the 10 pounds I gained this past year, all 10 was fat! That is what the trainer at my gym told me. What's fawn's shake taste like? Fawn is soooo smart! Do you have the nutritional info? It doesn't look like it tastes very good but that doesn't matter if it is healthy. I sometimes drink Apple Cider Vinegar right out of the glass bottle! Talk about yuck. |
