I will weigh 180 pounds and...
-- I will wear clothes that fit (remember Georgia Tent and Awning from Designing Women?).
-- I will be fit and exercise daily (and maybe even do it in front of other folks).
-- I will have a normal lipid profile (no more heart attacks, ever).
-- I will spread the good word about leading a low carb life (yup, were coming to get you).

Just ~one~ Klondike Bar? Please?

Sometimes I have intense cravings. A klondike bar, today, seemed to be the only thing I've ever wanted to eat.

I would have done nearly anything. But I took a nap instead.

I am still doing the do. I've lost 16 pounds. (290/274/180).

I planned to do more blogging and more food prep but I've been really busy with my mom's new website and very focused on getting it done (http://www.rggwohio.com).

It is done now and I can refocus on the diet.

Do you wanna know what it is?

Raising Cane's chicken fingers only have 1.68 carbs per piece.

How do I know this? Especially when Raising Cane's is pretty clear that they have no interest in nutritional testing? Well I slogged through 100s of Google Search Results and finally got a "sense" that Raising Canes isn't REALLY new or singular. In fact there are two other chains that offer nearly the exact some product.

One is Guthries and one is Zaxbys. Guthries, interestingly enough, doesn't offer nutritional info either. But Zaxby's does....

So I read (and confirmed in other places) that fat cells aren't just unsightly. They produce hormones too. One of the hormones is a form of estrogen.

Hah!

Maybe, when I am down to Goal, I will be more manly. I joked at work today that maybe my sexuality was an endocrine issue.

Can you imagine it: "Jae, honey, I think I am straight."

After ten years of marriage and nearly 20 years of being Out, there is no danger of this happening. But still it is damned funny.

I would be glad to get rid of my rather...

For The Last Time!

So today is day 4. The scale says 6 pounds (290/284/180). Even though I know it is mostly water weight, it makes me very happy.

I was in ketosis at day 2. Which seems fast (and faster than usual). But I was delighted.

It always seems like my biggest dietary issue is my addiction to Coca-Cola. If I take coke out, my caloric intake dives down even when not on a low carb diet. In induction (a loose take on Atkins -- I eat condiments and even stuff that I shouldn't eat in careful moderation and keep the CHO below 30G) I have to struggle to eat more than about...
