Some days you just need to vent. So this seemed like the perfect place to put my frustrations and what not! 
Hey, I'm on Atkins and my cats are on Catkins!

I'm new here, but not new to Atkins. I've tried it before, did really well for about a month. Then I just couldn't eat another egg!! 
I know I should have just took a break and went back on induction. But, I didn't. Instead I gained my lost 15lbs and another 10 for good measure. 
Now, my recent bloodwork reveals that I am pre-diabetic. Great! My blood pressure is going up, and my triglycerides are high. So now I'm totally headed for fat, diabetic, high blood pressure chick on cholersterol meds. I DON'T THINK SO!!!
I don't want to be another stereotype.My cat is diabetic. He's eaten mostly carb loaded foods for 4.5years. In my feline diabetes research I found a vet that is totally against dry cat food and pro canned or raw food. Basically, low carb food for cats. So he was on insulin for a few months until I got with her way of thinking. He now eats all canned food and some raw food. His treats are freeze dried chicken and tuna. He has been off insulin for 6 mths and doing great!
So taking a cue from my cat and Dr Hodgkins DVM, I'm going low carb too. All that processed food just seems unnatural. So far so good, and I have a good network of support this time around with family and friends, and I just found this place so hopefully it will be an additional place for support.
