Starting over - again.

Posted 07-19-2009 at 09:22 AM by Hello.Kitty
Trying to figure out how this blog works. I keep trying to post to it and it tells me I have no blog.

From October 1998 to some time in mid-1999 (when I finally decided to weigh myself) I gained about 85 lbs due to life changes that, well, sucked. Starting in 2001 I decided to do something about it and started Atkins. Got to 190 lbs by 2002 and...

serious about this weightloss stuff... I found out that sometimes with an occasional CHEAT my weight would actually go down... The cheats became more often... then stress at work starts... more cheats. And still for a while there I was still losing. Still cheating.

now gaining

Went to Costco today, and stocked up on BEEF; lots of yummy beef. I know that it's going to suck at first, cooking EVERYTHING... no more just grabbing a bag or a box of something. And I know I'm gonna feel sluggish at first, and...

Week 1 P90X

Posted 07-18-2009 at 08:37 PM by Dystany1
I just began P90X this week and found this site and am so happy I did!

It was nice to read people's advice, workout, and eating plan. I will appreciate any advice anyone cares to send my way.

I started the Lean program this week. After reading other's experiences, I am going to switch to the Classic Program next week. I also will be adding extra cardio in (Treadclimber, Turbo Jam etc). I ran my first half marathon in May (which I never in a million years thought I could do, but I did!). After it was over, I stopped working out and now I am determined to...

Posted 07-18-2009 at 11:59 AM by pchick
So, as you may know, I was recently diagnosed with Celiacs disease... with a leaky gut. The leaky gut is because I went for so long without knowing I was born with an intolerance to gluten, and I don't make the enzyme analyse(sp?). That leaves my small intestine all messed up and it is now porous and food "leaks" into my gut ~ YUK!

No one ever tested me before for this because it's considered a wasting disease, where you usually can't keep weight on (like cancer)... and I've always been chunky if not just fat. Through my research I've found that about 20% of celiacs...

Now comes the trouble!

Wish me luck!
On induction, and going to my in-laws. My mother in law likes to give me things. She won't stop offering food, stuff, until I accept SOMETHING. Its kind of like a game. Sometimes I accept sooner, and that makes it stop, but sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I refuse gently, until she offers something that might be something i would actually be interested in. This can take a while.
I love her, but she is one of those people who will ask you repeatedly what you might want for your birthday or Christmas, and then buy you something completely different and...
