It is what it is

Posted 07-27-2009 at 05:17 PM by dixiegal
Decided to give blogging a try. I love making lists. Guess it goes with the type A personality. Plus it keeps me on track since I tend to get sidetracked very easily.

When I saw we had the option to blog here now I thought, why not? I can make my 'to do lists' in here instead of on paper. I can keep track of exercise and weight loss and have everything neatly in one place. Plus it'll be a good place to keep track of my feelings as I try to change my way of eating.

I enjoy the journal but here since its just not out there taking up posts space I think I would feel...

Down 10 pounds and have a new dog

Posted 07-27-2009 at 03:56 PM by ktrinab
I am officially down 10 pounds at the end of week two of Induction!

That feels sooooooooooooo good. Sadly, no one besides me seems to be able to notice yet, but I think another 5 or 10 and it should really start showing on my body.

My new dog Tag arrived from Texas on Saturday. She was scared and nervous and not feeling well. She's feeling much more comfortable now and I just got back from the vet where they started taking care of her problems. She should be as good as new soon.

We went on a walk last night and I planned...

Journey to the Beach

Posted 07-27-2009 at 02:33 PM by fenella
Ok. Today is planning day. I am cleaning out the fridge and getting ready to begin my South Beach plan. I had a lot of success with Protein Power, but feel that the Supercharged South Beach plan is going to be a better fit for me. I LOVE fruit! I took my before pictures today.
I also took my before measurements.

I am committed to never seeing those numbers again! I know that if I can commit, I can do it. My mom had a heart attack at age 50, and for the first time, my bloodwork came back indicating high cholesterol. I eat too much fast food and too many...

Do Over

Posted 07-27-2009 at 12:16 PM by fmtblake
Since Dec. 2, 2008, I have been playing the binge eating game at night with myself. At night because no one is up but me and second because I usually lie to myself by telling myself that in the morning I will somehow think clearly and get it together get back on track. Well it's been 7 months and I haven't gotten it together and I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I begin again today, but this time, in my do over , I decided to reach out, I have felt so alone.
Anyway, I have gained just about 50lbs in seven months, I went from about 150 or so to 202 or so. After my binge...

New diet regimen

Posted 07-27-2009 at 10:14 AM by pchick
I've been doing okay with my new diet, but it's really taking a lot of time out of my day to plan and shop and cook. My hubby says it's a very good thing to spend time on, but it's getting old already.

To be truly gluten/grain free, I have to cook all three meals, all seven days.
I have to figure a way to make a bunch of stuff over the weekend, so I don't have to go shopping almost every day. I have been getting a lot of fish, chicken, eggs, leafy greens, veggies, and some fruit and cheese... and my new find: almond meal.

I'm slowly losing weight! I'm...
