The New Approach

Posted 06-29-2009 at 09:57 PM by Flaxman
I have been trying to hit the gym at least 3 times a week and that has been my starting point rather than obsessing over food...at this stage anyway.

I have lost 10 pounds over the month of June and have been doing a strength training workout with weight machines, then starting out at 20 minutes and now 30 minutes on the treadmill, I have been tearing it up.

Also, last week-end, I did our lawn which was a bit of a long process and a good workout too...not to mention a sunburn on my shoulders.

I have been careful at what I have eaten but not overly concerned right now. That is not to say that I haven't been trying to eat what I should.

My main priority is to hit the gym 3 if not 4 times a week and burning those calories, then when I am in a good stride with not only losing fat but strengthening muscle, I will be able to focus better on my eating habits.

This is working for me. Any comments/suggestions are always welcome!

This HAS to be it!

I first tried Atkins about 4 years ago, and lost 30 lbs in about 3 months. Then, we went to Hong Kong for a week, and I have struggled ever since to get back on and stay on.

I have found it harder and harder every year to stick with it. The fatigue just wouldn't go away, I felt like induction flu all the time.

I have recently found out that I have very low progesterone levels, would would explain the fatigue and cravings. Hmmm....could that have been why I wasn't really losing and still feeling so lousy??

It's month 2 of bioidentical progesterone...

Day 3

Posted 06-29-2009 at 05:55 PM by Amazonmagic
Man I love the weekdays. I have such carb control Monday through Friday, no problems. I stay so busy I just pack my food for the day and go, so there is no worries. My problem is exercising during the week. I am on the go with my job or sitting around doing nothing. Both of those activities can be extremely exhausting, well today I said I don't think so. I put on my heart rate monitor, cursing the workout gods the whole time, unmotivated and bored. That's it I didn't want to work out I told my self like a petulant child. I went to pee on a keto stix, eeks!!!!!! I still wasn't in ketosis!...

Motivated Monday!

Posted 06-29-2009 at 04:14 PM by Aediekins
Weekend- stayed on track... no cheats... but I just ate too much in general and also ate an artichoke with tons of mayo at like 11pm.... so I am up 1 pound to 190. Blech. I really want to get this weight off NOW... and I am being very good... if I could just quit on the night-eating. Trying not to be too hard on myself... I also want to enjoy life!

That being said....

The gym closes early on the weekends so I was supermotivated to get a workout today. I did a strength training class (1 hour) and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I almost always lose a half pound...
