Sobriety - Day 5*

k, so here's the rub....

Friday June 26 I woke up (again) with a hangover and said to myself I am sick of this, I'm going to quit. I made the decision, and I'm sticking with it.

My M.O. is to have a couple drinks before bed every night. and a couple drinks doesn't just mean 2 shots either. these are DRINKS. Well, I have not done that since Thursday night June 25. On Sunday June 28 I did have a bunch of beer at the bike hash, and I know I'm rationalizing, but that was a planned thing and I don't mind keeping that in.

I have not drunk myself to sleep since...

June 30, week 4, I think

Down to 190.......this will be the week I get back in the 80's. I am so happy about that! I was on vacation this week. Ate some wonderful food, but stayed mostly on plan. Ate pizza at Sergio's restaurant that was devine, had wonderful healthy salads that I throughly enjoyed also. Came back only 1 lb heavier and got that off. I love atkins.......!

The New Approach

Posted 06-29-2009 at 09:57 PM by Flaxman
I have been trying to hit the gym at least 3 times a week and that has been my starting point rather than obsessing over food...at this stage anyway.

I have lost 10 pounds over the month of June and have been doing a strength training workout with weight machines, then starting out at 20 minutes and now 30 minutes on the treadmill, I have been tearing it up.

Also, last week-end, I did our lawn which was a bit of a long process and a good workout too...not to mention a sunburn on my shoulders.

I have been careful at what I have eaten but not overly concerned right now. That is not to say that I haven't been trying to eat what I should.

My main priority is to hit the gym 3 if not 4 times a week and burning those calories, then when I am in a good stride with not only losing fat but strengthening muscle, I will be able to focus better on my eating habits.

This is working for me. Any comments/suggestions are always welcome!

This HAS to be it!

I first tried Atkins about 4 years ago, and lost 30 lbs in about 3 months. Then, we went to Hong Kong for a week, and I have struggled ever since to get back on and stay on.

I have found it harder and harder every year to stick with it. The fatigue just wouldn't go away, I felt like induction flu all the time.

I have recently found out that I have very low progesterone levels, would would explain the fatigue and cravings. Hmmm....could that have been why I wasn't really losing and still feeling so lousy??

It's month 2 of bioidentical progesterone...
