BIG piece of fresh strawberry pie and...

NO REGRETS!!!! I have not had a regular dessert in three months and today when Holly brought over the fresh strawberry pie with the real (sweetened) whipped cream...I said, "I am eating that." It was SOOOO good. I haven't eaten anything else today...not yet, at least. I know that is not a good pattern...but, here's the thing...it ISN'T a pattern. TODAY...I chose to eat a piece of pie and not eat much of anything else...TOMORROW...I won't eat pie...I'll eat LC. This is my choice...no deprivation...no "in for a penny, in for a pound" thinking as in, "I screwed up so...

I ended up doing the Shred yesterday and I just finished today. My body felt tired but I pushed through (it helps that the workout is only 22 minutes).

All I can say is - I don't like working this hard. And yet I keep showing up. It reminds me of something I heard at a retreat one time:

"Just follow directions. Your feet know where to take you."

And really, just following directions is the best I can do sometimes. That's why it's so good for me to have a routine... I don't need to reinvent the wheel. I just follow directions... and...

Sunday May 24th Day 5

My scale loves me. I know she does. I visit her often. It's amazing to see my loss almost every day.

Since this is the second time through Atkins I'm ready for the stall to come sooner or later. But for now I'm having fun enjoying the drops in the numbers.

I didn't blog yesterday, life got busy. So now I can catch up.

My hunger is almost non existant and that worries me tho I know it's the by product of ketosis.

I don't want to lost too fast and look like a bag of bones with skin. So I'm going to add in a few more carbs and try to slow...

I was sick all last week with a chest cold and respiratory problems. I was unable to go on my treadmill for most of the week. I did eat healthy but that was all.

I lost 2 pounds!!!! Geez, there have been weeks that I killed myself exercising and working my plan and didn't lose anything.

I think my body needed the shock of being sick and low key all week. Our bodies get used to our exercise and eating and start maintaining that weight.

It is a tricky thing this weight loss battle. I just need to keep reminding myself that I am going to live...

So I'm new here, but not new to Atkins by any stretch.

I just went back on Atkins after several years' hiatus... I'd been successful in the past, losing 40 pounds pretty quickly and then maintaining for several years. But then I started cheating when I started dating people who were huge carb eaters and not willing to compromise on that front, and asking them to cook separate meals for us every time we had dinner at their house felt like too much of an imposition. Plus, watching them eat baked potatos night after night eventually wore down my willpower.

So I fell...
