For my information:

Exercise and Ketosis

In that ketosis indicates that the body has shifted to using fat as it's primary fuel, and since only five to six days exist per week to be in ketosis, a question which arises is how to most quickly establish ketosis.

Aerobic and anaerobic exercise have somewhat differential effects on ketosis and are discussed here.

It has been known for almost a century that ketones appear in higher concentrations in the...

Day 6........find yourself a diet coach

Posted 06-01-2008 at 07:51 PM by laurihill
Well, that is a no brainer, I have all these great supportive buddies of mine that I can always count on. I also have my sister, who is always on my side, plus she is the best motivation there is, with a 100 lb loss under her belt for over a year. This was an easy one. Today I ate slowly, it was hard eating without reading the paper, but I did. I ate sitting down, I gave myself credit for making good choices, I read my response card 3 times.

Breakfast: always the same, and I never tire of it
dinner: lettuce salad with my french dressing
Linda Sue's chicken enchilada...

Wahhhhhhhhh!

Posted 06-01-2008 at 07:39 PM by violettfem
I had a really bad day today. My self esteem is in the toilet because of my size. I am bigger than I was last year by 20 lbs, even w/ the five I lost. Nothing fits and I feel just awful. I cannot really afford to buy new clothes either because I can't work and my disability income is so small. I just feel so humiliated.

I even thought about going back to Atkins or some other LC plan so I could lose it QUICK! But with whatever my body is going through I don't lose the weight no matter what the plan. I only lost 6.5 pounds after a month of Induction on Atkins, then nothing for...

Refeed - awesome!

Had a refeed today. It was much needed. My last one was last Friday. I was totally prepared for this one. Yesterday I made a few concoctions.
1. Granola - Raw oats, wheat bran and flax mixed with olive oil, water, vanilla, splenda, and cinnamon. I added a bit too much olive oil which added up to 4 grams fat per 1/2 cup serving so I only had one serving for breakfast. It sure was filling!!! I only ate 1/2 cup, 1 egg, and 1/2 cup egg whites and I was sooooooooo full - not even a sugar craving. I had to force my fruit before my workout 3 hours later. Anyone have a low fat granola...

Let's Get Physical

Posted 06-01-2008 at 07:30 PM by Lotpodz
Yesterday I went to the gym for the first time in AGES.

I could only manage 5 mins on the eliptical and then did 25 on the bike.

Today I pushed myself (and MAN was it hard) to do 10 mins on the eliptical (thought I was going to pass out, seriously) and then did 40 mins (!!!) on the bike. I feel so proud for almost doubling my exercise today..yay me!

Weigh in on Tues, fingers crossed!
