Hullo world!

I just discovered this great feature on Low Carb Friends and look forward to blogging about my continuing weight loss journey. I hope to connect with others who have similar experiences for mutual advice and encouragement.

Woke up feeling bloated again. Scale is saying crazy things I am heading into the week before TOM so Im not real worried about it. Body is also adjusting to the 3 lbs lost last week. Water retention is still an issue for me so I will drink even more today.

Week 1- Day 7

Day 7, second day of high carb, high calorie.

It's hard to believe that my first week of carb cycling is over already. I still haven't decided whether I'm crazy or not for trying this experiment and possibly screwing up my plan, but I felt like I was stagnating and that the good times of dropping weight each week are over. Then I remind myself that this is a way of life for me and it's better to know what works and what doesn't now than later; what foods my body loves and what foods my body can't handle; what foods satisfy me and keep me on plan and what foods leave me hungry...

Week 1 - Day 6

Day 6, low carb, low calorie.

I've checked a ketostix every night since I started this WOE. From the third day of induction on, my ketostix have always shown dark purple. Whether I was drinking the 64 oz that I started out with or when I was chugging down the 120 oz I now drink each day, the stix stayed dark purple. There were only two occassions when they showed pink - after eating a handful of grapes and after eating a handful of cherries. They didn't kick me out of ketosis, they just slowed down production.
