Asparagus!

How do you eat your asparagus=? I've only recently tried it and I found you can either buy it fresh or canned. I bough the canned version and cooked it with olive oil and some mushrooms - to DIE for! But I'm open to suggestions ! Do you eat it raw even?

I buy fresh...I chop off the ends. lay them out on a pan then drizzle with olive oil. shake some salt n pepper then put them under the broiler, just a few minutes on each side and Yummmmm

I have had it chopped into small bits in a salad, it wasn't really noticeable.

I do it this way as well. I like them to get crispy on the ends.

I've had them broiled with butter and parmesan cheese. Personally don't care for canned.

I chop off the ends, then boil it just until the harder end goes a bit soft. I don't submerge the leafy top, as I like it a bit crunchy.

It's coming into season soon....buy fresh instead of canned! Saute with butter or coconut oil, or roast with a little salt.

We cut the ends off fresh, or use frozen. Drizzle with olive oil, sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder. The either roast in the oven or grill outside.

I cut up smaller lengths and put it right inside my morning omelette (along with some mushrooms or spinach maybe) then I cook in the microwave for 2 minutes. For lunch or dinner when I'm having it with my meat protein, I just cook it in my microwave steamer for a couple minutes then drizzle a little EVOO and salt & pepper.

I use my microwave for almost everything. I like quick and easy! (I even hard boil my eggs in the microwave now - only takes about 7 minutes and I don't have to keep an eye on it on the stovetop.)

First, I buy fresh and look for thicker stalks. I rinse them before cooking. Often, I have a skillet of bacon fat from breakfast so I saute the stalks in the bacon fat on both sides, over medium-high heat. Once they get a little brown, I turn off the heat and cover the skillet for about 5 minutes to complete cooking.

Never canned. Yuck. I only like it fresh.

I prefer it roasted or grilled. The other day, I roasted asparagus with minced garlic, sea salt, and olive oil, then topped with bacon and chèvre.
