I am Loving Induction
I love this way of eating!

I am eating wonderful foods that I have always enjoyed, but was terrified to eat too much of. I am satisfied almost constantly. I feel great. I am sleeping great. I haven't had a headache the whole time.

And, I started at 238 lbs and this am I weighed 222.6! 15 lbs in two weeks - 8 the 1st week and 7 the 2nd week. Even if I slow to 5 lbs a week ( don't know if this is realistic or not), I will be within 7 or 8 lbs of my goal in 3 weeks!

Seems too good to be true. I am a 57 year old male. Goal weight is 200.

Not sure how long to stay on induction, but I was thinking until I was about 6 or 7 pounds off my goal - thoughts?

A big factor is my wife is an awesome cook - we have been using Linda's low carb site's recipes, which are very very good!

thx, Steve

:welcome: Steve.

Congratulations on your success so far! Be aware that it WILL slow down, and five pounds per week might not be realistic, even though you're a man. Be prepared for that.

An extended induction is fine, but I would strongly encourage you to move through all three phases before you get to maintenance. They're designed to teach you to make good choices long-term, and be able to KEEP the weight off. Losing is just part one. Maintenance is the long haul, and pre-maintenance is crucial to teach you how to eat this way without losing or gaining.

Current weight is 218. Things have slowed in terms of weight loss, but:

1). I feel great
2). Lots of energy and stabile energy. I am not getting tired at 9pm anymore. Seriously, I am awake until 11:30 and up at 6am, wide awake.

3). I don't get very hungry
4). I eat as much as I want and I simply have not experienced those times when "the more you eat, the more you want", which I used to experience allot
5). I am losing 1 to 2 lbs per week.

18 to 20 lbs to go

So glad to be off sugar and junk carbs!

That's a great pace to lose. That's about how much I lose when I don't stray off the path.
