Food choice issue...
Ok, so I figured out that what I am really doing is the Atkins induction phase 2. But here is something that is confusing me. I eat about 1/4 cup of chick peas at lunch once or twice a week. I do however pair it with protein fiber and a healthy dose of fat, which keeps the carbs down and the fat high. It seems ok, but I noticed it is a forbidden food on phase 2. Why is it forbidden if it doesn't violate the 25 to 45 grams of carbs a day? Should I take these out of my diet until I am out of phase 2?

Atkins phase 2 has a carb ladder reintroducing higher carb foods gradually. Now if I'm not wrong legumes are in rung 6, that means they should be reintroduced after (at least) 6 weeks of doing Atkins phase 2 (why did you write induction? Induction is just phase 1).
Atkins Diet Science| Atkins Official Site If you are doing Atkins then I guess those will get in with time, after the other Rungs have been introduced. Otherwise you are just doing low carb, staying lower than a X amount of carbs and I guess you can eat what suits you, as long as you are under the amount of carbs you decide to eat.
