Dreamfield Pasta?? Is it really low carb?

Has anybody had the Dreamfields pasta?? It claims that there is only 5gm of digestible carbs. I would love to try it but I don't want to stall the weight loss!!

I've heard that it is just as bad as pasta in terms of blood sugar response.

Its not the same texture but there's always spaghetti squash. It really does look like spaghetti and is a good vehicle for sauce and cheese.

I read an article about the Dreamfields pasta recently... I don't remember where, unfortunately. Anyway - as I recall, the bottom line is you have to be *very* careful about cooking it because the more it is cooked the less "protection" the carbs have. I remember the article said you certainly could not reheat it and expect it to still have the carbs protected.

One thing we have started doing is using green beans as a substitute for pasta - either stubby cut green beans ("penne") or French/French-cut green beans ("spaghetti"). It sounded dubious to me at first, but having tried it, we really like it.

Yeah, I don't trust it. I have eaten it in the past and it tastes great, but when I measured my blood sugar afterwards, i had a delayed response. My blood sugar would be normal for the first 2 hours or so, but then rise way too high 3 or 4 hours later...NOT good.

I looked at the carbs on Dreamfields and regular pasta, and there was exactly 45g in each, that told me something right there. I don't believe it. I've used it and gained.

I now only use Shiratake noodles. Takes some getting used to but I love them. 0cal, 0fat, 0g carbs.

It has never knocked me out of Ketosis, and I agree with the posts on only cooking it as directed and not reheating. As far as stalling weight loss, that is difficult to gauge. It does give me gas though, which makes me think that it slows digestion and clogs things up. I only use it very sparingly when I absolutely have to have some pasta - and only a small side dish portion like Macaroni salad at a BBQ.

I have used Dreamfields. I like it, but only use it every couple of months and make sure I measure it and have a veggie such as green beans on the side.
