October Goals

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 149.9

I haven't posted since September goals and I'm happy to report - I reached my goal. But, I must admit being accountable on this website was what helped to push me.

So, here is my October goal:

incorporate 60 minutes of extra activitie into my life each week. That works out to 20 minutes 3 times a week. I'm so out of shape, I'm not sure I can do it. This is week two or my first full week. I have 20 minutes to go to reach my 60 minute limit. I need inspiration - i.e. push to get on my treadmill. I sprained my ankle pretty good and today is the first day it kinda feels good. Either tonight or tomorrow and I can still make it.

Oh ya and also to keep eating healthy

OK, let's here who else has a goal this month???

good for you. congrats on making goal for Sept. after a few weeks of doing it you will look forawrd to your workouts.

make a wall chart so you can stick stickers on it and reward yourself for each time you do it. then pick an end of the month nonfood reward and award it to yourself when you acheive your exercise goal.

I'm not doing a target weight goal because my weight loss has slowed down to a crawl and I'm not able to predict whether I'll lose two pounds this month or half a pound. So I'm just going to keep doing my thing and supporting the rest of you.

eculmone, that's a good goal for you and should be achievable. Congratulations for meeting your September goal!

hey monthly goals were never supposed to be about losing weight. more about following your eating plan and doing your exercise plan to make positive changes in your life style.

Thanks ladies I agree monthly goals are about treating yourself well. i.e. positive frame of mind, feel better about oneself.

Thanks also 2big. I ended up buying a cork board for next to my treadmill. My DH bought me wireless remote headphones so now when I walk I can listen to my shows i.e much music, CMT, Life, Slice and TLC

The cork board has a calendar up on it and so far I'm on target for my exercise. Your right today, I actually felt empowered walking.

good for you. now remember as you get in better shape to increase your speed incline and duration so you get the same cal burn exercise as you get smaller

smaller

OK, OK, seriously I honestly can never go through life not wishing I could eat that brownie or have that ice cream. This has been my struggle since I was 12. I'm 45 and I keep slipping up. I know there will be times I'm going to cave and eat that &^%$#@(* brownie and then I'll have a landslide down the carb road. Then I'll pick myself up and get back in the wagon. It's all I know how to do? I don't see myself as 'small'. It's pretty much uphill for the rest of my life here.

I just hope I can stay in my size clothes from last year. I was smaller, but I'm like a yo yo. Sorry, I have to laugh as I'm just hoping I don't get any bigger

hey look at that weight loss you were a 200 pounder and are now a 149 pounder. that is 51 pounds of you gone. It also means that if you are doing the exact same workout today as you were doing when you were 200 pounds you are burning about 500 cals less today then you were then.

this is one of the reasons so many folk fail to get to goal weight cause they don't change up the exercise as they lose pounds and continue to eat the same amount of food.

as to that brownie I hear you and I thought seriously about making pans of stuff and storing then in the freezer for the day I broke but I know just knowing they are in the freezer there would be a magic performance and some how they would vanish from the freezer to my tummy so I have never been able to store anything sweet for a I give in occasion.

that has helped me control the I give in issue cause I can chose to only cook one serving of a dessert and then enjoy it knowing I will have to bake a whole nother one and can talk myself down off the ledge before it gets done. My garbage disposal has eatten more desserts then I have over the last 5 yrs.

My goal is to maintain correctly. I've never maintained any weight before... it's always been going up, up, up, except when I'd halt the gain and temporarily reverse it before it started increasing again. So it'll be a big victory if I can stay within 2 lb of where I am. Oddly enough, my weight doesn't fluctuate much day to day - it's always within 1. So I'll give myself a window of 2.

Argh my keyboard has a short... ANYHOW!!!
Today I hit my first major goal of my diet, or the reason I began to diet. So I could do a pull-up. Technically I did a chin-up, but growing up obese I was never capable of either. So very excited. I've done a few of them throughout the day now, just to make sure I wasn't daydreaming.

I find it amusing, trying to improve my capacity, I've been trying this plan on the 100 pushups webpage, (google it if ya like ). I can do 70 pushups in around 10 minutes on this plan, and I dont feel that sore that day or next, but 3 reps of ONE pullup a piece and I feel like I got hit by a car.

My goal is to join a gym instead of just saying "I'm going to join a gym".

I'm a big opponent of gyms. I know a lot of people who join, who never go. Save your money and invest in a home tool. Elyptical, treadmill, Wii + Wii fit. DDR game, bowflex. Don't have to worry about people staring at my booty when I run that way.

Last day to get 20 minutes in for my 60 minutes this week. I don't want to do it. 'Do it'! No, it's chilly outside, I'm drinking my coffee, yummm...

DO IT SAYS MY INNER VOICE!

OH ALRIGHT I'M GOING, I'M GOING - DON'T RUSH ME MAN I hate self talk when all I want is a blueberry muffin, my coffee and a good movie!

You must be refering to my husband. He is going on 3 months of having a membership at the gym, still has not been inside since he enrolled. Drives me nuts. I used to have a membership and would go faithfully 3+ times a week for years before or after work. Now I'm a stay at home mom and I would love to get out to workout. I have a treadmill but every time I get on it, I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old that try to get on it with me. The Wii Fit sounds good though. I'll look into that.

Make sure to get the Wii Fit PLUS. It has a bunch of additional games and improved fetures of the old game. Calorie counts, non stop modes.

Restarting tomorrow... Lost about 30 pounds a couple years ago and need to do it again (drats) and this was the only diet that ever worked, I tried SB, WW and they just didn't seem to work as well so I am back to the drawing board with something that works.

Hello, Dee--it's been several days since you posted and I hadn't checked this thread! Did you get yourself started? How's it going?

Your avatar picture is really lovely. I see some moonlight yarrow in there, and I don't know what the purple flowers are, but I like them!

Happy Devils night?

OK, October is coming to an end. My mini goal to stay ontrack and incorporate 20 minutes of exercise 3 x's a week? YEE HAW I DID IT

I'm down to 147.4 today but not sure I want to change me profile just yet? I'm nervous. I hate the scale

So it's Friday, the night before Halloween? I no longer feel the pull for sugar so I can't believe I'm saying this... It's no big deal. Just another night.

I hope I still feel this way when my DD11 comes home with her 'stash'

DH's turn to take her out and my turn to give out the Candy.

See you all in November. I'm thinking about my goals for November...

Stay tuned and BE STRONG
