cant exercise

HI
I started 2 weeks ago and am happy with the results so far, about 8 pounds, not sure until I weigh in Monday . I know I will plateau soon because I can't exercise for a bit due to a blood clot.
Any suggestions? I want to keep the momentum going so I don't get discouraged.
I am looking for casserole recipes or easy items too so I can take to work.
Thanks for any assistance or advise you have for me

You will not necessarily plateau. I lost most of my 50 before I started to exercise.

As time passes you will feel your appetite decrease, listen to your body and eat only until you are comfortably full. Remember, you can always eat more later if you get hungry again.

Sounds as if you are doing everything right just now!

Kissa - Your so cute! (i like that "focus is the new black") LOL

mrsmordru - You may consider if you start to plateau, you might cut back on calorie intake. But listen to Kissa, if your body isn't all that hungry. Don't consume more.

Personally... I think exercise is over-rated for weight loss. I lost my weight without it. Now I exercise because I like how it makes me feel and I sleep better. And I have dogs... so I HAVE to walk. LOL But you CAN lose weight without exercise.

In the 6WC it mentions Leptchin (unsure if I spelled it right) but its a breathing, and stomach muscle exercise that focus's you to basically squeeze your center inner stomach wall against itself. It also says that you can do this anytime, anywhere. Even while sitting.

Otherwise it just says to do 30 mins a week of resistance training. That is really not much. I haven't exercised in the past on low carb regimes and lost just fine. If you can, you could do some arm exercises or leg resistance movements, using your own weight as resistance or dumb bells. But the point is to tire those muscles out enough that they are breaking down, to rebuild. Thus why the book suggests 30 minutes a week of heavy lifting.

Some of us won't be able to do that. Like yourself. A little bit probably is better than nothing but then again nothing works well too unless you feel you need it.

Kisha... I've been doing that stomach thing. It's hard.... can't figure out how to breathe during the contraction. I think that takes muscle strength and coordination. LOL The book suggests doing it 8 times a day, I think. I like to use triggers to remind me to do it... stopping at red lights, commercials on TV, letting the dogs out. Things that repeat every day and will trigger me to remember to do the contractions.

LoL - Trill - Yeah I still am working on it too as I'm not perticularly sure if I am doing it right either. It takes a mild bit of concentration. I'm sure after a while it will be second nature though.

Triggers... That is a great idea. Trigger's to do them daily, so you don't forget. hehe

Gosh I'd forget my brain if it wasn't attached lol!!!
