Pizza Scalping

Disclaimer: I am part Native American. Please do not get offended on my behalf.

Soooo they had a pizza party at work today.... not only is that in itself a horrible temptation but everyone walking by was pressuring me to go get Pizza. Especially the ones who know I'm low carbing. So I caved in. I walked over to that pile of pizzas and scalped 4 slices.

Definition: Pizza Scalping
The act of pulling and or scraping the toppings off of a square or slice of pizza. Leaving a fleshy pizza sauce covered crust behind.

Everyone who watched me do this looked fairly horrified I would butcher said Pizza in such a way. I walked away with my pile of cheese, meats, and veggies and dined happily.

Teach them to taunt me with their carby foods.

That'll learn 'em!

My partner threatened to order Pizza the other day. She laughed and said "I guess it will be all for me"

I said, "no, but I'll fling empty crusts at you..."

the said pizza was left at the pizza shop. Where god intended it to stay.

I've wanted pizza so bad. I just can't bring myself to order one and eat it like that. It would be too tempting. But I guess if it were laying around work I could do it.

You need to try Cleo's You Won't Believe it's Cauliflower Pizza Crust:

1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower**
1 egg
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2tsp fennel
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp parsley

pizza or alfredo sauce
toppings
mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 450 degrees farenheit.

Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.

In a medium bowl, combine cauliflower, egg and mozzarella. Press evenly on the pan. Sprinkle evenly with fennel, oregano and parsley.

Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes (15-20 minutes if you double the recipe).

Remove the pan from the oven. To the crust, add sauce, then toppings and cheese.

Place under a broiler at high heat just until cheese is melted.

no no no you have the terms wrong.
not scalping
recycling that disposible biodegradable plate ( that would be that wheat flour crust) the pizza company serves your low carb pizza on is the correct term.

congrats on recycling

Sometimes I make homemeade pizza with a meat crust, takes a lot of time, but it's yummy.

I haven't had pizza since last year and I don't dare eat it, even just picking off the toppings. It's just easier for me to stay away from it entirely. Pizza was one of my go-to foods and I don't trust myself to not be dissatisfied with a complicated low-carb version and start having wild cravings for the real thing, all of which sounds like such a pain in the ass that I'd rather just not have it at all.

We made pizza without crust Sunday as it was a rainy nasty day here and Mother wanted pizza after seeing all the pizza commercials on TV during the football game she let me watch. I just put the sauce in a cake pan and then the toppings and cooked it like pizza. when it was brown and bubbly and the veggies were done ( I precooked her ground beef) I put the pan on a plate and gave her a fork to eat her pan pizza. The nice thing was with the sauce on the bottom nothing stuck and clean up was a breeze.

See, that sounds really good, but yet I am pretty sure I'd have a knee-jerk reaction to missing the crust, and that's why I just stay away from any version of it.

You don't hear me talk a lot about certain foods that would be tempting, but this is one category best left alone, for me. I can make mashed potatoes for someone else and not take a bite...I can be around pancakes, french fries, candy or desserts and not flinch. I'm not ready to deal with pizza yet. Maybe never will be!

Lancer you are so funny, I love the way you put things. LOL
Sounds good though! I work with people who love to bring in candy, baked goods and who live for "bring in food days". We are going to having National Radiology week here at work in a month. It gets scary for a LC'er. We have so much yummy snacks and dinners catered in. I may have to take vacation that week.

We go to Ci Cis pizza buffet and I'm no longer embarrassed of my plate piled high with denuded pizza crusts.

Ha! Whoever mentioned leaving piled high plates of pizza crusts at Ci-Ci's buffet, I am the Queen of that! It makes it look like you've eaten SO much food when you really haven't!

Although now I have a Lap Band and I can't eat near as much...and having the band really makes it where I need to skip the bread anyways (it can get sort of stuck if you aren't careful!), but I will always be a pizza "scalper" at the pizza buffets!

I'm a pizza scalper too. My friend brought over a pizza yesterday and I pulled the cheeze and peperoni off one of the peices. After all, I think I'm entitled to do what ever I want to with my slice.

I always make flat bread pizza. There is flat bread at Albertsons that I slice in half (3 carbs). I bake it w/ olive oil to get it hard and then put really thin slices of tomatoes on it in place of pizza sauce. I put basil leaves and mozzerella with lots of peperoni. It's really good. I actually ate a slice for breakfast every morning for months.

Just remember not to go crazy with your ripped-off pizza toppings, because Italian sausage contains at least 1 gram of carbs per ounce and pepperoni has at least 1 gram for 8 pieces. When I say "at least" I really mean it. Could be more. And cheese has a little bit too, all of which can add up if you're eating multiple slices.

Not saying don't do it, just be aware.

I use sun-dried tomatoes ( think it may be a pesto), they're jarred with oil. I Spread a little over Lavash bread.Lots of flavor.Oregano sprinkled on top is good

While on vacation, my family would go out for pizza a lot, so I would generally "scalp" two slices of pizza along with my salad. I don't do it in general, though. Who knows what they put in the tomato sauce?

We make low carb pizza alot. I take pepperoni and line the bottom of a pan with them. A little Hunt's tomato sauce with oregano and basil on top of that, then cheese, then other desired toppings. the pepperoni is the crust. YUMMY!!! I have always loved leftover cold pizza, and you can just take it out of the fridge and eat it like a slice of pizza. Ooohhhh...now I want some! LOL!
