Atkins again for the Nth time

Well guys I'm back again. Was trying a purely muscle building weight loss regiment but when that started to plateau I decided it was time to get back on a muscle friendly diet. A few issues I tend to have when I do this diet is my pipes get backed up, and at one point I had some hair loss issues from it which resolved on its own eventually. Anyone provide any tips to keeping my hair on my head and things moving down below?

welcome back. reread your DANDR.
the high fat iof the diet should keep the plumbing moving.

some folk shed head hair from eatting their cals too low and others from not getting enough vits and minerals in their diet biotin in particular. you'd know which you were based on your food choices and supplements last time.

You may notice a bit of a lag in your energy as you continue your workouts when you begin your Atkins eating. Your body will catch up as you grow more of those mitochondria power plants in your cells and begin to store fatty acids in your muscles cells for faster energy production, so don't carb load to make up the energy

It's my understanding, too, that just because you experience some hair loss when changing your diet, that doesn't mean you're losing your hair for good. Hair is completely dead except at the follicle. Sometimes a change in nutrition pushes out the old hair and a new hair starts to grow, but you can't tell for a while because it's just a new, short little hair where an old, longer one was before.

What is this caused by? Seems pretty sci-fi. Do I lose something temporarily or does the body do this to make up for the lack of sugars etc?

OMG! Darling wife found a reciepe for stuffed mushrooms. She pulls out the stems, then chopped onion, cream cheese, mushroom stems, and mozerlla, and put that back in the bottom of the mushroom and bakes with a piece of bacon on top for 30 mins 350. I think she found it on here somewhere... Omg. Omg. Delicious lol.

Yep the human body is a sci fi mystery

the body doesn't care where its energy comes from as long is it gets ATP molecules for fracturing so any time you have a low energy period the parts in charge say "make more mitochondria!" . since you can't get eneergy from fracturing buckets of glycogen on a low carb diet you are going to have a low energy period and your body will signal more mitochondria to be created in each cell.

Also since the glycogen stores are not being released to re-energize the muscles once their supply is gone the muscles will signal for more fats release from the body stores but it takes time for fats to be liberated soooooooooo our resourceful muscles that can store fatty acids start grabbing extra of them from the blood stream and storing them inside their cells so when the ATP energy is gone they don't got to wait for the fat cells to give it up cause they got a supple right there to start with which makes the 2 carbon TAC system running full time without any lag. we have 3 types of muscle tissues and 2 can add fatty acid storage.

Working out

So should I be attempting to work out during the induction period? I am a lot more tired. I figure its always good to excessive but will that interfere with my system negatively?

actually no it will not harm you. and by doing so you are telling your body make more mitochondria and store more fatty acids. Now don't try a new personel best chest press without a spotter cause you are going to fatigue sooner and need a bit longer to recharge between lifts until your body does make the switch. it will feel much like a distance runner who has bonked or hit the wall. just drinks some water and take a breather cause the more O2 you get inside the faster your enery levels will replenish.

Also check your vits and minerals on somehting like fitday to be sure you have enough of them as many inductees make poor nutrtional food choices about their 20 grams of carbs and end up defieicnt in many. Also with the natural diuretic effect of the program you can wash your water soluble vits and electrolytes out of your system.

Intresting. Yeah were eatting lots of mushrooms, onions, brocolli as our "good" carbs. Wing sauce has some nutrients in it I believe. Muaha! The weightloss I've had during week 1 (tomorrow is the first week) has been pretty poor. Lost 3-5 lbs, but I've been running, lifting, and eatting "better" for a few months now so I'm probably not getting the same jolt a lot of inductees get I am guessing.

nope only virgin dieters get the huge wash out of the glycogen stores and their water. since you been using your glyucogen stores working out you shouldn't have lots of water stored with them thus you are getting the week 2 body fat loss and 4 pounds when by your profile you only got 60 to shed is a good one week loss of 6.6% of your needed to shed weight. not bad at all.

So I bought a pair of 34 inch waist jeans from Aeropostale and I was able to get them buttoned. Very shocked. I haven't worn a 34 inch waist pant in about 21 years. I used to be depressed I couldn't shop at these kind of stores at all. (Most have expanded their waistline coverage as of late I've noticed). This is not why I'm posting. I want to say I never noticed before but I'm a bit disapointed. Apparently under 34 inch waists companies actually make odd number sized jeans. WTH. So skinny buts get a perfect fit will chunkies such at myself have had to make due with improperly fit pants. Boo! lol

Magnesium supplements will help with the bathroom issues. 1-2 T flaxmeal is allowed, also, i believe.
