I am back with an update. The brownies look and taste great. They are very rich and moist which is a good thing. The less amount of sugar in the 90% LIndt doesn't make them bitter at all. They have a very rich chocolate flavor. More sweetness wouldn't hurt them at all. I had to bake them for 60 minutes though. I checked them after 35mins and they were still raw. I also added 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder into the batter... Here is the picture (sorry, it's a little big) ![]() |

I have to post this picture, it's that pretty. Don't you agree? So cute!!
I bought this at Kroger. Even the little spoon is made from chocolate. It's not a low-carb treat, but if I had a coffe-cup mold, I would make it immediately. The filling is a coffee whipped cream. The cream is really delicious, light and fluffy. I believe a Tiramisu-like cream would be perfect for this. ![]() |

Humm not sure why so different other then the sweetener(I have never used that kind) or baking powder(I would not of added that..)? But that does not sound or look like mine at all. Adding the baking powder made it more like a cake. It even look more cake like. These done by recipes are just like 'real' brownies. I'm really bummed they did not turn out right, but glad they are edible

Candice, they are very much edible :0) They are delicious and moist - just like a brownie should be. Next time, I will not add the baking powder and will use a larger pan so the batter will be thinner. I used 8x8 glass pan this time. Using a larger pan may reduce the baking time...
Truvia is a mix of erythritol and Rebiana (Stevia). Thanks for posting this recipe. I love it. Last edited by Jonika; 09-20-2011 at 08:54 PM.. |

Ya know I made again today.. I KNOW BAD ME!! they are JUST SOO GOOD though.. And they turned out just as perfect as the first time. I use a 8x8 baking dish and have no issues. I only bake 25 mins(did the first time and this time as well). I'm not sure why you had to bake so long. Very odd. maybe be its the type of sweetener? But to be honest, I have no clue I have never 'played' with those ones. |

I have to wean myself back off of sugar. I have been partaking if it occasionally and can see the addiction coming back. Do not want that. Sugar very bad. |

Candice, this time the brownies came out as yours - I baked them for 35 mins. and that was too long (this time it was in Colorado, gas oven) - they are a bit hard, so next time, I will cut back on the baking time (maybe 25mins. only).
Great looking torte there! I made a similar looking one a month ago. I have a wonderful chocolate mouse recipe from one Christmas magazine where I just substituted Truvia/Erythritol and low-carb chocolate for the full-sugar ingredients...I am telling you it was so good, I ate it every day for breakfast and a dessert!!! ![]() |

First of all, I want to say to Candice: I am not trying to compete with you ...please, take this as my compliment to your excellent baking skills. As you can see, I am using cake batter from a bag...
And it never hurts to share different ways of making one and the same dish... ![]() crazyone, I am posting it right now. Just add an equivalent amount of your sweetener instead of granulated sugar. Also, you can use Mascarpone instead of listed 1and 1/4 C HWC that needs to be whipped. As for the cake, I used Dixie Diner Carb Counter Brownie Mix (1g per serving which is 1x1 inch piece from 8x8 baking dish. For this cake I simply used 1.75 QT ROUND Pyrex dish) I've done this recipe three times so far and used Truvia sweetener and oh boy, the mousse came out devilishly delicious every time. ![]() And this is the final result of the easy chocolate cake with fresh raspberries. I made it this summer: ![]() |

crazyone, oh yeah, the mousse itself is to die for... If you want, you can use a mixture of ChocoPerfection and Lindt chocolates...that will lower the carbs.
