Hey cleo- have you ever made your cheesecake with splenda? I need to avoid sugar alcohols and wanted to see if it would still turn out before investing in all the cream cheese. It is very pricey here!!

To me, Splenda is sickeningly sweet, but you could try it and see what you think. If you sub out the sweetener 1:1, you can taste the batter and see how you like it prior to baking.

thanks- I usually use less splenda than called for- i also find it much sweeter than sugar or other sweeteners. But i don't mind the taste at all.

I use xylitol now, no yucky bitter taste like stevia or splenda

see- that's funny- I have xylitol and I find it sweeter than splenda, I also find it has an aftertaste- though I've been using splenda for almost 10 years so even real sugar tastes weird to me...

Thank you! The recipe will be up tomorrow morning. I'm making sure I don't confuse anyone with the steps first. There's the cheesecake, crust, caramel and then the whipped topping.

That chicken enchilada bake topped with sour cream would be so yummy! Followed by a piece of cleo's pumpkin cheesecake. I am making that for Thanksgiving for sure.

It's so good to see pumpkins back in the stores! That looks great, Heather! It's great to see others laboring over the perfect pie crust recipe, too! At the rate I'm going it'll be ready next year.
