Low Carb Alcoholic Drinks

We are going to Dave and Buster's tonight. I will be getting the Salmon and green beans, but can someone advice me on some good low carb Alcoholic drinks. I know that Vodka and rum are low carb, but what are some good mixtures to go with them??

Thanks!

I only like the Cappy....I have drank it before when lowcarbing with no effects and if I am not mistaken, I read it was low in carbs. You may want to confirm this before drinking it tho'

Michelob Ultra is low-carb beer or advertised as. Yet, it doesn't help much if you wind up drinking more calories than your dinner!

Yup, rum and diet coke. Captain Morgans is about 1 carb per serving based on what a "shot" is to you. You can look up carb counts online for any brand.

My "shot" would equal about 4 carbs

WOW, you must be using 4 shots then or more. A standard size shot glass is 1.5 oz. filled to the rim. A pony shot or short shot glass is 1 oz.
Here are the carb counts....

Rum Carb Counts per 1oz and Nutrition

Here are the carb counts for various styles of rum. Straight rum is always zero carbs. This is because the sugar has been turned into alcohol - and alcohol has zero carbs. Note that alcohol does have CALORIES. It is one of the four types of energy a body can burn, along with protein, fat and carbohydrates. So while it's not a carb, you can't drink unlimited quantities and expect to lose weight!

Captain Morgan (a spiced rum) comes in four flavors:
Original - 0.3g
Silver - 1.7g
Parrot Bay - 6.0g
Private Stock - 2.2g

Malibu Rum - 5.1g

Rum Bacardis:
Bacardi Light 0g
Bacardi Gold 0g
Bacardi Limon 2g
Bacardi Vanilla 2g
Bacardi O 3g
Bacardi Razz 3g
Bacardi Coco 2g

Malt Bacardis:
Bacardi Silver - 34g
Bacardi O3 - 33g

I drink only the following:

Vodka w/diet soda or crystal light (at home)

Michelob Ultra or any light beer but watch it...carbs can add up. Not even sure they make low-carb beer still? Anyone know?

Any alcohol is LC ...its the mixers that add the carbs

Also, wine spritzers....but don't drink the sweet ones like Chardonay or Zinfendel.... dryer wines have less carbs.

Millers 64 is low carb and low cal Rolling rock green light is low too. The original Miller lite is low too. I think all of these taste better than Michelob Ultra.

If your up to handling the juice of one lime. I do once a week. Mix 2 splenda packets in bottom of tall glass. Muddle 6 fresh mint leaves and juice of one lime together in bottom of glass. If no muddler, use fork and mush it good. Add shot of light rum, crushed ice (half glass) and top up with club soda and mix with spoon. MOHITO BABY

It was yummy, but it's maintenance. I'm back to no alcohol today

You should steer clear of all beer and wine cooler type drinks for they all have carbs in some form. If you must drink use thte hard liquor such as rum, vodka, whiskey ect. They contain no sugar just plain alcohol. Your body will use up the alcohol then go right back to buring fat for energy. With the other drinks the sugar will stop your body buring its own fat for fuel then you will have to induct again for 2 days to burn up the sugar you took in. Even low carb beers can be bad.

I usually have a Baracdi and diet coke. I don't drink coke any other time so it is a treat.

Any idea how long it generally takes for the alcohol to get burned up?

I ususally go for the mich ultra or southern comfort and diet w lime and lemon
BUT a huge warnging. Alcohol will affect you much differently than before LC, it takes a lot less for me to get tipsy now.... and make sure you drink water at least one for every alcoholic bev or you will feel like someone hit you over the head w a frying pan
or at least I know I do lol

Another option: Cocktail Mixers called Go Cocktails!

Aside from Rum & Diet cokes, I also use a flavored vodka mixed with water and a mix packet called Go Cocktails! for my low carb drinks. My friend turned me on to them after she found them. they taste really good , much better than Baja Bobs or Spirit Mixers!!! You can find them online at Sugar Free Cocktails, Low Carb Cocktails and Mixers - Go Cocktails!
