I agree ketchup is for french fries, burgers and hot dogs, other than that I don't use it much as is, I always use it as an ingredient for some other kind of recipe like coctail or bbq sauce.

Humans can not live by meat alone, we must have ketchup!!! This ketchup is very good.
Just my two cents on the subject.

Giant Foods carries the Heinz low carb ketchup as well.

In theory, I'd really prefer to make my own ketchup, but since I don't use it that often (mostly just on a burger), the homemade would go "off" well before I could use it even half a recipe. So Heinz it is :-) It's very tasty.

I didn't like it at first (tasted a bit chemical-y) but now my tastes have adapted and I love it! I mix it with a little bit of Worcestershire sauce to make low-carb steak-sauce, too.

Love it! tastes like any other ketchup to me. I love that they now have it in one of those upside down squirt bottles. (just bought it this week). lol

Oh & I need to figure out how to make Catalina dressing with this as someone mentioned. I tried a recipe for Catalina awhile back it was alright but not quite catalina.

You'll find that walmart usually carries the 1 carb ketchup too. It's a beautiful thing for meatloaf and fauxtatoes

Heinz catsup

I have used the Heinz One Carb before. When I ran short went to the store and they had only sugar-free Heinz catsup. I looked at the nutritional info and the sugar-free is only one carb too. So I got sugar-free.

Did I mention it makes a great shrimp coctail sauce just by adding pure horseradish puree and lemon juice. Oh delightful heaven!

I use it and I like it - everything in moderation, count the carbs. It's never stalled me. You won't know until you try it! Good luck!

different brand ketchup

I've never seen Low carb Hienz in my local land, so I buy Westbrae Natural's Unsweetened Ketchup, 1 carb per serving. I use it to make a great bbq and cocktail sauce. Never thought to add sweetner, since I'm trying to keep that to a minimum and I do love SF vanilla syrup in my coffee among other things. To Metqa and HerBoudoir: True Lemon (crystallized lemon) is < than 1 carb for the equivalent of wedge, and works great in dressings, baking and icetea. Really helps keep the carbs down with out sacrificing flavor. This I found in Safeway.

I like True Lemon! Thanks for the reminder. I tried westbraes ketchup before. We didn't like it. It tasted too much like tomato paste. BF started calling it Un-Chup! But it IS a good starter for other condiments like homemade BBQ. Glad you have it.

I found some at Super Walmart this weekend - it's packaged new and called "Reduced Sugar" now but it's still 1 carb.

I've used it for years... you cannot tell the difference between it and the sugary type. I have always gotten it at Wal-Mart... and tend to keep a two or three bottle 'reserve' just in case it is discontinued. Not taking any chances with it!

That's right. The only ingredient that's different is the sucrolose instead of sugar, otherwise it's really just the same ketchup!

Yes! I do this too, and it is SO delicious!

I don't know what I would do w/out my LC Ketchup on my bun-less burgers. LOL
