Slow weight loss...

I just read a thread that said that calcium deficency can cause a slow in weight loss?

Wow!

I have been easily been in ketosis for almost three weeks, and have lost very little weight. At my last check up the Dr. said I had low calcium and gave me some pills. I guess I need to start taking them huh?

when we have low blood calcium levels our body has a gland that secretes chemicals that remove calcium from our calcium banks ( that would be your bones). Unfortunately this chemical also effect thyroid function negatively so low calcium low thyroid. increase calcium in diet blood calcium levels go up and chemicals are no longer produced resulting in better thyroid function which results in better metabolism.

that is where the milk in the diet causes weight loss theory came from.

You need to take the calcium, I work w/a lady with horrible osteoporosis. It's heart breaking. The Milk council should use her as a advert, forget all those milk mustaches. Show what really happens.

Good luck to you!!

I've read that calcium is also used by the body to stabilize the blood pH by neutralizing acids. So if you keep your pH in the healthy range, you should stop depleting the calcium so rapidly.

Has anyone had any experience using any of the "super green" type supplements for alkalizing the body? If so did you notice any effect on weight loss?

They're full of good phytonutrients anyway, so I'm sure it can't be bad.
