Best Life June/July 2008
I just received my June/July 2008 issue of Best Life Magazine (Rodale Press) yesterday. I was scanning through the journalistic blurbs that are so much a part of modern media when I discovered a half page write up on Stanford University's study and comparisson of diets.
The best diet? Yes, according to Stanford, Atkins (low carb). It promoted the most weight loss, largest decrease in body fat, and lowering of "bad" cholestorol while raising the "good" cholestorol. Plus the Atkins Diet had the highest "stick with it rate". And after 1 year had the highest overall weight loss. It beat Ornish by 40%, Low Fat by 50% and The Zone by 70% (numbers rounded) total fat loss. O40
