OOPS....got that wrong luvvy. Sorry I realise it's probably a typo.
too much protein, too little fat. We are talking Atkins here!

Fat: around 65-75%
Protein: 20-30%
Carbs: 5%

Don't be scared of the fat. It's our conditioning. And make sure its good, unmessed-about-with fats.
Read the book,
And get that coconut oil down you!
Good luck

p.s.
Morretta...love your avatar pic. way cool

nope not a typo at all that is the ratios Dr Atkins practice was giving to folk calling to see how low was too low fat and high was too high protein in DANDR
65 30 and 5 unless you are metabolic resistant and need higher fats but you will not know that until you finsih 14 days clean induction eating and check the charts in DANDR with your lost weight knowing how much you need to lose too.

once we finsih induction percent of fats in the diet will slowly decline as we up our carbs. If you are a high CCLL it can get all the way down below 50%

protein in adition to being in that ratio needs to meet you growth repair and glucose needs. Controlled carb who is a nutrtionist posted a formula low carbers can use based on current body weight divided by 2.2 as their target protein intake in grams.

You can use one of the free sites like fitday.com to see if you need more protein or fats after you plug in your menu.

happy low carbing

Don't worry.

I do 80% fats and I'm losing at a great pace. Eat until you are full. Don't obsess over calories.

I take 3 medications that are known to slow weightloss and I didn't exercise at all for a month after induction, but take a look at my signature.

Everyone's different. You have to find the plan that works for you.

BTW, eating 30% fat made me a very irritable, angry, hostile person. Don't get between me and my fat grams!

What kinds of fats are you eating? I cook with butter but aside from that, I don't think I get that much fat (it is all from dairy i.e. cream or cheese.) Mainly because I really like chicken and I don't like the fattier meats very much.

coconut oil. I recommend you read Bruce fife's book on the subject ... it's a real eye opener. (except for his misinformation about diet).

BTW, I would recommend eating as much fat as you want ... you'll know when to quit. I really messed up my metabolism on 17 months of Jenny Craig (low calories ... 1200 per day) so am now trying to heal it by stuffing myself with fat. I tend to average about 1500 cals a day if I eat normally so add in fat calories with the coconut oil. I try for 3 to 4 TBS a day (and NOT all at once). I mix it with a cream cheese/peanut butter/cream mixture so it's quite yummy.
