9 days post induction and no weight loss?
Hi everyone,
I have two questions here: Question #1 - I am about 9 days post induction and haven't had any further weight loss. I lost 5 lbs during inducton and want to lose about 10 more, then maintain. Why haven't I lost anymore?! Can someone take a look at my menu and see if I'm doing something wrong? Am I eating too much?? (P.S. - I'm pretty constipated too (sorry TMI), can that be part of the problem?) Sample menu: (plus 8, 8oz glasses water each day) Day 1: B: 1 egg omlett w/mushrooms, green peppers, feta cheese, coffee w/CO S: handful of pumpkin seeds L: 1 Italian sausage w/2 TBLS tom sauce (net carbs 2g), green peppers, mozz cheese, sm. side salad D: 2 slices "pizza" (crust made from eggs, cream, cr cheese, low carb tom sauce, mozz, pepperoni, mushrooms, blk olives), side salad Day 2: B: 1/2 atkins breakfast bar, coffee w/CO S: handful pumpkin seeds L: Lettuce wrap; lettuce, tom, turkey, bacon, prov cheese, mayo D: Buffalo chicken breast (boneless skinless chick w/prov, mayo & hot sauce), parmesan baked cauliflower Question #2: I'm having foot surgery this Thursday , so I'm expected to be fairly inactive for quite awhile. Should I cut back my calories during this time?? Any other advice?THANKS!!! Melissa Last edited by janesworld : 05-06-2008 at 11:05 AM. |

wow lots of issues there
first do you have a total for your cals carbs fats proteins cause your serving sizes don't tell any story. the foods look good but is your handful my hnadful for those seeds and are your seeds hulled or whole? your plan in your profile says moderate carbs but you say you are 9 days post induction so which Atkins are you doing? 2002 seeds are a week 3 OWL reintro so that might be an issue how many carbs did you add back to your Induction on this post induction eating? BUT it is prefectly normal for you to have a scale weight loss hesitation after 14 day for any weight loss plan. it is so common Atkins folk call it PISS ofr Post Induction Stall Syndrone even though it isn't a true stall. Have you checked your inches lost so you can see even as your body is adjusting to its changing shape body fat is still being shed even if the scales fail to announce it. If you are doing Atkins Dr Atkins recommneds lowing carbs not cals when our activity level decreases but you are going to need to see what happens post surgery first since you are just out of induction. Since we feed our hunger if you listen to your body you should naturally be eating less while laid up since you will not be hungry from high energy demands. Ask your doc about any extra nutrtion you might need while recovering from your surgery too. Oh and be sure they know you are low carbing so they don't panic if they spot Ketones in your blood or urine testings.

How does one make an omelet out of one egg?!
![]() I'd lose the seeds and Atkins bar for now, but really - you not likely to lose weight every day or every week, especially being so close to goal. Your body will give up the pounds over time. Maybe more time that you want to allow, but that's true of most everyone. I hope the surgery goes well! |

Well that's not induction...
Pumpkin seeds, pizza toppins, and atkins bar? High sodium will also prevent WL. Cut down on the sodium. Eat more natural items |
