for those who have a special event coming up or just want to lose extra inches!!
Hi people! Ive been reading alot of posts on here and see alot of people go back to induction in hopes of losing weight quick for a party, wedding, etc. Just thought that i would mention that a great way to compliment your low carb diet is to have some body wraps done. I work at a Day Spa and i know for a fact that these work and are permanent inch loss of 6-24 plus inches! Plus they tone the skin really nicely! But you dont need to go to a Spa to have them done. You can do them yourself at home.
Im not talking about water loss either. Im talking about lymphatic drainage, getting the toxins out and shrinking the fat cells through compression. This is a scientific fact. The best way to do the lymphatic wrap is to get some sort of citrus essential oil whether orange or lemon because they penetrate the skin the best and a carrier oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil. Then get some saran wrap and voila!! You CAN also just spot reduce e.g. arms, thighs, stomach. Be sure to have a tape measurer!!! What you need to do is exfoliate the skin first. I do this with a mixture of sea salt and olive oil. Then mix 4oz of your carrier oil with 15-30 drops of the essential oil. (the more drops you add the more detoxifying it is) Or you can always buy a premixed solution off the internet. You want to rub this all over your entire body and then use the saran wrap to wrap yourself up. You should wrap yourself firmly. It might be easier if you have a friend help you if youre not experienced doing wraps. Once you are wrapped you need to lay on a flat surface for 60-75 min. DO NOT take a shower when you take the saran wrap off as the product will continue to work. It would be best to wait to shower until the next morning. You can do this as often as you like. It wont harm you unless you have some sort of allergy to the citrus. Maybe you should do a skin test first. I do it every other day. Remember this is permanent inch loss because its lymphatic drainage and not just water!! Good luck and have fun!!! Last edited by SweetestDork : 04-28-2008 at 10:37 PM. |

you can definetley use cheaper stuff. From my experience saran wrap works the best cuz its thicker and with the pulling to make it tight/firm the cheaper stuff tends to tear easy. Walgreens usually has the saran wrap for pretty cheap. You could also use ace bandages which i think is the best of all cuz they are reusable and hold very firmly. Also if you need help with knowing how to wrap yourself you can look for bodywrap videos on youtube.com and they will show you how to wrap properly.
Thanks for asking! ![]() |

I got a gift certificate to a spa that offers something called a relaxation treatment. It's listed under facials, though, but "emphasizes the mind through manipulations of the lymph stimulation done on the lower, middle and upper parts of the body" - a 1 hour treatment. There's also a Body Essence Wrap that doesn't mention the lymph system, but treats with "muscle relaxation that detoxifies and de-stresses while softening the skin."
I know it's hard to judge from this, but I'm wondering what you think about these - would they be similar or should I just stick with swedish massage & regular facials? Thanks for your help!

FYI.... just so you know, massage is passive exercise meaning that you will get the same benefits as if you had done a workout. It will tone your muscles and tighten your skin. Its just that the Massage Therapist is doing the work for you Thanks! |

Well I did it.
I don't think I wrapped tight enough, but it kind of worked. I did lose an inch of my waist. I liked it though so will try again. Also I didn't wrap my whole self....just the middle bits! |

Hi Sparky, how long did you leave yourself wrapped for? did you lay under some blankets to warm yourself? You want it tight enough it doesnt cut off circulation but def. very firm. The hotter you are the more inches you will lose so make sure to lay under a few blankets. ![]() |

How much of the oil should you rub on? Also, do you wait for it to absorb into your skin before you wrap yourself with the saran wrap?
The reason that I am asking is that earlier this week, I tried a body wrap for the first time. I did lose inches and my skin felt great but the saran wrap on my legs and stomach kept trying to slide down. I probably had the wrap too loose or used too much oil. I will definately do this again. I loved the results. Thanks |

The best way to wrap is to start at your ankle and starting from the INSIDE wrapping OUT and around your leg. That way when you get to your thigh the saran will be less likely to roll because it follows the curve of your thigh naturally. Wrap both legs that way and when you get to your stomach make sure you wrap all the way down to your hips giving yourself what looks like a miniskirt and then back up again. Do that several times and that will also hold the saran on your thighs in place as well. Make sense? i wrap around one time on the loose side and then go over it again making it tighter each time. I wrap a good 7-8 times each part and then lay on the bed under 2 heavy blankets. The idea being that the warmer you are the higher your metabolism is and the more toxins come out and the more inches you lose. YEA BABY!! |

Thanks Sweetest
Oh yeah, kept myself lovely and warm. blankets and hotwater bottle by an open fire, and kept it on for a good hour and half, but now I realise i didn't wrap tight enough. I think I was being stingy with the cling film and only wrapped round a coupla times. Oh I'm going to try it again tomorrow. I love doing it for the smell alone! I have to try it after I get some real Saran. Can I use lemon juice and baby oil?
Is there a limit to how many inches you will loose. It just seems to good to be true. How often should I do this? Once a week, twice? Thank you for your help. |

I know people are skeptical but i do this everyday in the Spa and people always have good things to say about it. Like i said there are different types of wraps and not all are to promote inch loss. Post your results! |
