Iced coffee idea

My mind is always going on ways to get around giving up the previous addictions I had. One is iced coffee. Even the sugar free ones are 11 carbs for a medium.

So I had a thought, and I'd like to know if anyone has tried this yet...

What if I took an Atkins chocolate shake, added cold, strongly brewed coffee, a little water and put it over ice.

Anyone done this yet? Is it any good?

I hate to "waste" a shake to find out, but I will if I have to.

Yeah I have actually done that and it's really good. I blend them with ice and it's awesome.

Where do you get the 11 carbs? A couple tablespoons of 1/2 n 1/2, some sugar free syrup (truly 0 carbs - DaVinci or Toriani), and all you're at is the carbs from the cream. I drink 2 large coffees (actually iced Americanos - espresso) a day like this and it doesn't (seem to) affect my weight loss or ketosis.

I'm talking about the iced coffees offered by coffee houses and specifically, in the 11 carb statement, I was talking about the sugar free vanilla iced coffee offered by McDonald's in L.A.

Thanks for the input on the Atkins shake coffee idea. I'm going on a roadtrip with hubby tomorrow so I'll try it then.

Alot of people on this board claim that coffee actually does have carbs. Even black. Me? I don't really count it. I figure my homemade coffee w/heavy cream and divincis as 2 carbs, just to be safe.

I used the atkins shake in my egg cream, i didn't have protein powder...it really was good. BUT I think it may have been a trigger because I was soooo snacky later in the day!

Skip the shake I've been doing this every day and it's delish!

Coffee with some French Vanilla Decaf International Foods Cafe (2 carbs)
add a little cream (I also add coconut oil) mix it in your magic bullet , add ice and VOILA a very $$ and carb cheap treat!

I won't use the shakes or flavored powders, so I'd brew a cup of decaf, chill it, then add cream, the SF syrup of my choice and ice it down. I can't imagine what Mickey D's is adding to make it 11 carbs but I'd beware. You should be able to have an iced coffee for next to nothing.

Actually Davinci and Torani syrups are TRULY carb free. The only reason why the Splenda packets and Splenda baking sweetener has carbs in it is due to the bulking agents in the powder. Torani and Davinci don't have any of these bulking agents, so they don't have any carbs in them. That's why they are so WONDERFUL on this WOE...

At my school they have a coffee vending machine. For the additives you can choose from "whitener" or "Sugar"...BTW, what the heck is whitener? Paint? I bring a small rubbermaid container w/ 1 Tbsp Divinci Caramel and 3-4 Tbsp Heavy cream. I get the coffee black add my mixture and PRESTO!! Heaven especially when 2'oclock rolls around and I'm dead tired. Do the same thing with Ice coffee! Order black and add your secret!

I get my coffee from a coffeehouse and it contains no carbs. It's what you put in your iced coffee that contains the carbs.

I was also a ice coffee addict. My poison was the bottle frappucino starbucks sells in grocercy stores. My husband works for pepsi and was bringing me home cases of them. I now make my own with heavy cream and swt and low. I just ordered the Davinci choc syrup and can't wait to try to make a mocha.

Ever had a Tim Horton's Ice cappucino? They are addictive and cannot be made sugar free (I asked it is pre-mixed)

I am now having these every day for breakfast, and sometimes a snack... they will fool the biggest fans of the ice capps, OMG they are so good!

(I personally cannot do the shakes...)

toss into a blender:
2 eggs raw
1/8 tsp vanilla
sweetener to taste
2oz heavy cream.

when well blended toss in 6-8 frozen coffee cubes and blend until frothy...

You really won't believe it until you try it, and it is a perfect breakfast for induction.

DO IT!!

I got my sister and stepdad and mom eating them every day too.

My sister is NOT overweight, but she told me after 10 days her love handles were gone and she feels fabulous.

My stepdad also lost his love handles, and the residue from a nasty rash he had for over 2 years that the Docs couldn't fix.

My Mom traded her toast or cereal for these for breakfast, she has them with coconut milk because she cannot tolerate dairy... she LOvES them and she no longer craves the carbs all afternoon.

enjoy, I know you will
