I feel ya. It's hot and dry and a little windy lately, which means my thigh friction could spark the next California wildfire.

I think it's important to get healthy fats instead of animal fats and eat not starchy veggies as well. As long as you stay within your carb range then eating veggies won't hurt. Lean meat is okay and you can add healthy fats when you cook it and add healthy fats to your veggies.

You can follow a lower fat version of Atkins. Use fish, poultry, lean meats, and low fat cheese (in moderation) and lots of vegetables. Avoid creamy salad dressing; instead use olive oil and vinegar or a mustard based dressing. Eat nuts only in moderation. Don't fry foods, and use lean cuts of meat. Stay away from processed meats such as bacon and sausage. Supplementing with unsweetened, smooth textured, orange-flavored Metamucil daily will help bulk your stools. Take 1 tablespoon in a full glass of water and drink immediately.

I agree with this 100%

lower fat yes it can be done but low fat NO! and that was what the OP ask about low fat Atkins.

Amimal fats are just as healthy as plant fats. Most folk don't realise the fats in say a steak are not all saturated. there are mono and poly in there too.

Is Olive Oil healthy? yes. Is it a fat? Yes. When chemical analysis of a cooked steak is done, does it contain the same kind of fat that makes Olive oil healthy? Yes . . .

YES! YES! Animal Fats Are Healthy!

Think about all those overweight african cats, eating all of that animal fat and meat.

OP, If you go low carb and low fat, your only other options are either high protein or low cal. Carbs and Fats are fuels. What will be your fuel?

Dr. Stillman's Quick Weight Loss Plan

Dr. Stillman published the first high protein book. I have one dated back to 1969. Atkins knew Stillman, and it has been said in an interview with Dr. Stillman's wife, that Atkins routinely talked with Stillman about the high protein plan Stillman advised his patients to follow.

Stillman's QWL is low in fat, near 0 carbs, and high in protein.
