Got A Motivation

I have two strong motivators to stay with this lifestyle change. One, I have to teach day-long seminars starting at the end of March and want to raise my self-confidence by looking better. Two, my husband and I are a duet (he plays guitar and sings, I play accordion) and we are working up to playing an evening at a restaurant nearby. French music and American standards. Again, when I look better I feel that I have more self-confidence in front of people. So for now these are my motivators. After I conquer these hurdles I will think of a new goal along with my weight-loss. I would really like to take a Caribbean cruise and motivate myself right into a nice bathing suit. We shall see.........

I have an upcoming trip...worried about shorts, swimsuit, etc

hi...I've been motivated by an upcoming trip ..taking the kids to Puerto Rico and I'm really excited to see it...NOT looking forward to the bathing suit, etc...Today I was trying on in a store, and shorts did not look good...I'm trying to walk now that the weather is getting better, but I'm thinking I should stock up on capris instead...I don't have that much to lose and I guess that's why it's so ,...........damn slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think I can accomplish by April 7???? 10 lbs. do you think??? I lose in increments of 2 or so, but NOT every week! I'm trying to up that with the exercise...so I know the scale won't be "accurate" my pants are loosening up in the butt, but everything is still tight in the waist area...I blame the kids for that!!! hahah (it s so uncomfortable)
any thoughts are appreciated! thanks, Beth

Just Do Your Best......

Hi Beth, As you get closer to your goal each pound will make a real difference in how you look, and you really don't have a lot to lose. I don't know the date of your trip but you should be able to make some real progress between now and April. I have volunteered to teach the very first workshop series at work at the end of this month!!! It is really helping me stick to my resolve. We went out to eat tonight and I had a side salad, with dressing on the side and a cheeseburger w/mushrooms and no roll. I felt good about that. Now I am home, with my husband sitting four feet away munching on Peanut M&Ms. I think he will get on the bandwagon soon.......Good luck

My motivation is my chronic back pain. I was diagnosed with sciatica several years ago. The pain has gotten so unbearable that I've been taken to ER in ambulance more than once I'm hoping that dropping this weight will reduce/eliminate back pain. I swear the pain is worse than labor (and this from a 3 x C-Section mommy!!!).

I understand that. I am hoping to lose the foot and leg aches after a long day at work. I hope that about twenty pounds will help fix it.
