Breakfast for Business Travelers
I will soon be on Atkins again. I've lost a lot of weight in the past and pretty much kept it off but now want to go for another 30 pounds.
Here's my issue -- I do a lot of traveling for business, often on a tight schedule. I know I can handle lunch and dinner but my issue is breakfast. I just don't like eggs, never have. Any thoughts on Atkins-friendly non-egg breakfasts on the road other than carrying some sort of bars or shakes with me? I'd rather not go that route as they tend to upset my stomach. Janis |

most breakfast places offer steak and eggs, skip the eggs and ask for sliced veggies instead of the grits/fries. our local place will put a few strawberries or whatever fruit is in season on the plte with tomatoe slices when I ask then to hold the toast and taters.
oh and if you are in a good quality hotel you could just get extra dinner at night and keep it in your room frig and nuke it in the am |

When I travel I always take with me plenty of nuts, atkins bars and cheese triangles. I eat them on the plane and use them for snack and desert when I reach my destination.

If you have access to a dehydrator, you could make some jerky to take for breakfast. Netrition also carries an ostrich stick that is supposed to be pretty good. Not sure if you have access to a cooler or cooler pack but making quiches in muffin pans are really good for breakfast and even if you aren't crazy about eggs all the other ingredients tend to disguise the taste. You could also make the chicken muffins and take those. I often grab a piece of the new Live Active cheddar cheese and eat that for breakfast. It lasts pretty well until lunch.

How about flax muffins, pre-cooked bacon, nuts... I'd just order a few sides of breakfast meat if I didn't like eggs and had to order out... with coffee, of course
