Question on Salad Carbs...Need help!!!

Hi there....I had read that during the induction phase you are allowed to consume 2c's of salad and 1c of vegetable from approved list, and also, that 15 grams of your carbs should come from the salad and veggies. I am a little confused though, because I was looking at my baggy of "garden romaine" and it indicates that 1.5 cups of this salad only has 1gram of net carbs. It seems that if this is true, I would be way under the amount of carbs I need. Please someone help and clear this up for me!!! Thanks a bunch!

I have been on induction since this past Tuesday and I have lost 4 lbs., but it hasn't budged much since. I am actually looking forward to reaching my goal of 145 lbs., where I feel I would be more comfortable. I am 5'3", medium build, a little top heavy, and weigh 159 lbs. now. I think this venue is great and I look forward to contributing and encouraging others because this way of life truly does work.

Add other veggies to your lettuce, green peppers, radishes, tomatoes, cauliflower broccoli etc to get your carbs up.

Dr Atkins definition of salad veggies isn't just lettuce. There are over 50 veggies on the 2 lists and the carb count of some like pumkin and jicama will surprize you. Make sure you get a good variety in your veggies to so you don't short change yourself in the micronutriants we all need.

Happy low carbing
