Dr. Atkins Vita Nutrient Solution
I own this book and have found it very valuable and refer to it frequently. The problem is that I realized recently that it has become outdated - nearly 10 years old and surely the research on vitamins and supplements is now outdated....unfortunately.
I don't know if anyone from the Atkins organization still posts here, but is there any way of finding out whether someone has picked up the mantle from Dr. Atkins to continue his research on vitamins/minerals/supplements? Thanks, Ro |

Hopefully, someone will have a more definitive answer for you, but I've found the book to still be pretty cutting edge with regards to treating issues such as candida and certain other ailments. I've read it several times, and it seems other places are only now catching up. I so love Dr A's homeopathic approach that I am almost loath to think what "Atkins Nutritionals" might release next. While Dr A seemed to be truth-driven and for the betterment of the health of America, Atkins Nutritionals seems to be monetarily driven.
I agree that someone needs to pick up the series and run with it, but I hope it is someone who is responsible and not merely looking to market their processed products. For the time being, if you have any questions about specific maladies and question his effectiveness in describing routes for betterment, your physician might be able to help, or we can at least offer anecdotal experiences with particular issues.

Hi Cleo,
I refer to it so often that I now keep it next to my bed to read at night....he was really onto something with respect to some of his recommendations - like uses for Folic Acid for example. I have had a really hard time finding another source that is as unbiased. Most other sources of information come from supplement sellers Ro |

I agree! Now, take what I'm about to say with a grain of hummus, but isn't Rodale is, I believe, supposed to be pretty good about proffering up homeopathic information. I just did a search for "vitamins" "Book" and "Rodale" and see they do have a book which offers up advice about vitamins and their role in " the treatment and prevention of many illnesses with vitamins."
I've always liked Rodale. It's another option out there for more up-to-date information, and should be very complementary to Dr Atkin's findings. |
