Tastycake Sensables

Has anyone tried these? The ingredients list enriched bleached flour-that cant be good! They claim to have 2 carbs each. Are they ok or not?

Thanks for your responses. I will have to find something else for times I crave a little chocolate. Maybe Hersheys sugar-free bars ?!

No, they are certainly not ok!

Bleached flour is a deal breaker on Atkins.

Sugar has 4.2 net carbs per tsp.

It's not acceptable either.

It's not just the carb count, it's the quality of the carbs!

There are some other alternatives for recipes if you really need that chocolate fix. Do a search. I know there is one for cream cheese with cocoa powder and splenda. The sugar alcohols in the Hersheys bar can reek havok on your system unless you just eat a little bit.

i actually made these cheescake like things, they taste ok, but are really small, they use ricotta cheese, i can dig up the recipe if you like

as for the sugar alcohols, they used to not affect me or so i thought, and now this go around on an induction like phase, i was eating them and i have not lost anything for a bit, so for me im gonna stay off them for a bit,

but they must affect each person differently,
i would try to find something that will ease your chocolate craving, those sugar alcohol bars are better than cheating thats for sure

He's probably refering to those cheesecake muffins and there are like a million posts on those (do a search on the recipe board and you'll see what I mean)

ok I threw out the cakes- it broke my heart to trash anything with chocolate!
I tried Linda Sue's recipe for jello fluff & loved it-peach is my favorite. I have a recipe for a low carb cheesecake that's really yummy but has a nut crust so I am waiting till induction is over! Also sugar alcohols don't affect me adversely(it sounds like i'm one of the lucky few) so i have a sugar free chocolate candy occasionally. Thanks for your replies!

That might be bad news.

There have been reports that people who don't have adverse reactions to sugar alcohols actually digest them like real sugar. I don't know if it's entirely true, but I know they stall many people something fierce, and knock some out of ketosis.

Be careful.

One thing that was a major staple for me when I first started Atkins was the Truffle recipe in the back of the book. They are allowed on induction and are really really chocolaty....

Ok...everyone can throw snowballs at me now...I am so lucky I don't even LIKE chocolate.

Now...if I can find a suitable replacement for potato chips and popcorn...that will be my diet miracle!

Where are these 'reports'. I have read once on these boards someone suggesting that, but never in an actual study or 'report'.

Jello is my lifesaver when I want sweets. You could also whip up some cream with a little cocoa, a couple packets of whatever sweetner you use, and a dash of vanilla. Really good.

I haven't had a chance to peruse Linda Sue's site very much yet, but I do know that Dana Carpender's recipes work very well for sweet treats, and usually use high quality ingredients (SF pudding mix not withstanding--I'd stay away from that). I love the chocolate chip cookies using Eat Well Be Well chocolate chips. If netrition ever sells Eat Well Be Well chocolate bars again, I would recommend them too. No sugar alcohols and taste really good. (The new chocolate bars they carry are yucky. Hope they read this).

Whip up some unsweetened whipping cream and add some splenda and cocoa - maybe a bit of vanilla and if you're past induction some chopped almonds.... delicious and wipes out chocolate cravings
