AntiDep?

Can I get your advice? My Dr. prescribed zoloft, I feel good when taking it but am VERY concerned with weight gain as I have heard of slowing metabolism from it - in addition, I hate the feeling of being dependent on something - this is why I gave up coffee! Anyway the benefit from zoloft is the appetite supression - it is so nice not to be ravenously hungry! I find when I do not take it I will eat out of emotions etc but when I am on it I do not - So....I guess my question is do I take the easy way out and pop my pill...or do I finally learn after 42 years how to adjust my behaviors? Thanks for your understanding and help I REALLY appreciate it as I trust this board!
