I can't believe it is happening!!!!!!!!

I always read the posts where people are losing weight but never thought it would actually happen to me!! I was a die hard fruit and vegetable eater until my stomach would bloat and hurt. I thought it was natural and filled with cleansing nutrients so it must be good for you! Over the course of 2 years I gained 20 pounds ont eh "good for you diet!" My energy and moods swung up and down etc... All I thought about was food and when I could leave work to get another 3-4 pounds of grapes. I ate them all day - can't imagine how many calories I put down. I was able to hide it through running weight training etc... Well I finally cut ties - just after investing $400.00 in ANOTHER juicer! I read the '72 version and thought it was too good to be true but it is working!!!! I have lost 6 pounds - miracle because that has been something I have been trying to do forever - but the main thing is I am not obsessing about food! I came back after my run this morning and did a bunch of things before the though of a meal even crossed my mind! That is soooo different for me!! I normally come back - eat the entire contents of a fruit basket and then go about my day - eating! So thank you all for having this excellent board and I am so happy and PROUD to be a part of it!
P.S. - today is the first day I wore a skirt to work - instead of hiding behind a sweatshirt pretending to be cold!!

Congratulations, I to love how I can forget about eating! However I do find I need to make sure i do eat regularly to keep my metabolism running at a decent pace. It is so easy to forget eating, and your right it is an awesome novelty..
Cheers, Kazz.

Thanks for the reply! Nothing better than seeing the clock strike 2:00pm - and still not have thought about food! How different than the grape diet - which was fun but I thought about food 24/7!

WOE: atkin's induction (72 version)
Amen to that!!!

I could have written your post! I was always consumed with thoughts of food and would almost constantly graze on "healthy" low cal. stuff. Even though my belly would feel "stuffed" I still felt hungry and had food on my mind! Now, after less than 2 weeks of induction, the constant cravings, hunger, etc. are GONE! What a relief!!!!!

Congrats on your success!!!

I was just thinking that today...funny. I would think about eating CONSTANTLY...I would eat a full meal and then go half an hour and think about when I was going to eat next...I ate constantly and it wasn't celery! At first on Atkins I did think about what I ate and wishing for the things I couldn't eat...but now I can go a long time without eating....or thinking about eating- what a change of pace! I do love fruit though...I hope you're not just totally sick of fruit cuz it is good for you in moderate serving sizes...although I would get sick of the 'fruit all the time' diet! Congratulations on your weight loss...it's just the beginning

Way to go!

I can really identify with being hungry all the time. I'd start with fruit and then go to sweet things...ice cream, cookies, anything I could scrounge. And of course, the next day, it's all the guilt and promising myself I will really cut back from now on! I love this WOE where I'm not obsessing about food all the time.

Thanks for reminding all of us how good this plan is! It is true...you don't feel starved all of the time and that is just one of the many benefits of Atkins.

It just keeps on getting better! We have been in San Francisco for the weekend on vacation. First time to the West coast for us. We love to eat! I can not believe I have not strayed once!!! After a 15 hour travel day and then full sightseeing days I stayed on plan - noe before the pats on the back - I must assure I ATE! But all good stuff. DH was surprised that after a 7 mile sight seeing walk I had a really good omlett stuffed with crab - and that was it for the day. I forced dinner down but was definately not hungry! The food in San Fran was good and the temptaions abound but thanks to the support here - I am still hanging in there! Tonight was dinner at Chops in Sacramento - dd got the chocolate cake which is sitting infront of me because she could not finish it - in the old days one bite would have sentme into a HUGE binge so I am typing instead! Thanks again!

yup.. yes I am amazed! ... I have to tell myself to go to lunch really. I drink to keep my metabolism going.. they say water does the trick. I haven't finish my dinner ONCE.. before I'd eat same about as my husband... then now he finishes off my dinner .. and I am not even regretting it. I love it!!! Will weigh myself on monday to say my weight after induction. the thing is not to get out of induction.. I don't want to stray........... I am staying below 20 grams, but this is my 3rd week.. all this time I've only had a tangerine. I love fruits.. I just love them.. I'm a sinner. I only ate just 1 tangerine. 6 grams of carb. I stay within my limits. I find its easy to stay with atkins as long as u really stick to your 20 grams during. I could hype it up.. but I am prolonging my induction.... but I want to stay I can live it up till now.. I will keep it as long as I can live with it.. then I can gradually move up. Anyways.. I'm happy the fruit dieters are coming out to meaty, loveable protein
