What do you do to stop eating!!

Well, not totally stop... but what I mean is what do you do when you are eating every second! If there is food, I will eat it! I have never been this bad... do you have any tricks?

Get out of the kitchen! Stay on the computer and drink water! I don't know where you are located, but if it's bedtime, go to bed now!

Amen to that! I would LOVE to be in your shoes right now But, I suppose if this is a problem and you're afraid you may gain weight, I do two things....three actually.....first, I try to stay in ketosis--natural appetite suppressent. Secondly, I started taking L-Glutamine twice a day--morning and mid-afternoon--empty stomach--no protein within 30 minutes and lastly, if I'm hungry, I EAT. And, I eat until I'm satisfied. Somedays that may be 1000 calories or less--somedays it may be more than 2000 Fat always satisfies me more than anything else. On days when I'm really nervous or having cravings (like PMS), I have been upping my butter intake--smells good, give me instant mental satisfaction and keep the hunger away YMMV. Hope this helps

Water Water Water!

I like that this WOE teaches you to listen to your body. It's amazing! When you're hungry, it'll tell you. When you are deficient in certain nutrients, you will crave those certain nutrient-rich foods, Etc.

It is quite helpful in controling my overeating.

WOE: My Own Type Of Low Carb
Start Date: 2/12/2005
I generally crush up some ice and have a s/f snow cone or else a flavored water and crunch on the ice or a s/f soda and do the same. I always eat those little bags of baby carrots. I want the crunch all the time. Get a couple of slices of cheese or anything that is leftover in the fridge.

I admit, a lot of times, it's just not controllable. I have been learning to be satisfied with a certain amount, esp., if it's something that is higher in carbs.

I make pepperoni and cheese nachos or eat some black olives. I will slice up a tomato and eat that or some cucumbers with ranch dressing. I try to get something that makes me feel like I'm cheating when I'm not. The cucumbers and ranch dressing always make me feel that way. Must be all the years of not being able to have the ranch dressing? LOL

It helps me to put things in portion controlled paks. I put 1oz of nuts in a snack bag and wrap up 1 oz of cheese in glad wrap, things like that. I also buy the string cheese and it's fun to eat and takes a while or I get the snak packages of cheese that are pre-wrapped for you in the grocery store. The individual paks of cottage cheese work good too. The individual s/f jellos are handy to have and they feel like a dessert of sorts.

Ham and cream cheese rolls in the fridge all the time as well as stuffed celery sticks. I actually write the size and carb content on all my stuff with a sharpie, so I never confuse myself.

There are days when I still want something even though I am full. Can't explain the reason for that or what would make it stop. I just try to get through it. Most of the time I try to do something other than watch TV because all those food commercials seem to 'trigger' my hunger alert, even when I know I'm not hungry.

Water and lots of it. It's best to have at least 100oz. Most of the time if you think you are hungry you might just be thristy. Plus if you feel like you need a drink then you are probly already dehydrated. It's easy to have that happen while on Adtkins so make sure you drink lots of water.

Water and fiber always help me. If this fails I begin to limit carbs especially veggies and eat more protein. I seem to find myself in this predictament when I am PMS or when I've consumed red wine or more carbs than I usually do. I also exercise to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

I have had a problem with the lc candies and ice cream. Not stomach problems.....addiction, lol. So I don't buy things that are trigger foods for me. This includes lc candies, lc ice cream, lc chocolate milk, lc bars, and powedered donuts.

If those things are in the house, then I will eventually break down and eat them or eat too much of them. So I just avoid the temptation by keeping those trigger foods out of the house.

Other than that.....Water, sf jello, coffee, and almonds. Coffee is amazing for curbing my apetite. I just have a cup little a little cream and stevia and I'm fine till the next meal time.

Brandi ;~)

Honestly, I havent' really had a problem with wanting to eat more. When I am in ketosis, I tend to want to eat less. Maybe your fats and proteins are off? Or are you just still experiencing cravings?

I think I mentally programmed myself this last month not to eat after 7 pm. Just don't do it. Drink water, type on these boards, twiddle your thumbs, paint your fingernails, better yet give yourself a pedicure. That should take awhile and keep your hands busy.

I stay as busy as I can. As soon as I plop down in front of the TV, I want to graise on something. So now if I start to reach for the snacks, I get up and take the dog for a walk. She getting a ton of exercise and it helps me too.

I brush my teeth, all food tastes awful when you've done that. I usually also drink lots of water too, it's perfect to bring a bottle with water all the time.

Hello Celestial Seasons tea works great for me, so I keep a stash of different flavors on hand....right now I've got Raspberry flavored green tea and Apple and Cinnamon. Hot or cold, with cream and splenda- or w/o...depending on my mood. If I am still hungry I will eat something rich with good fats, but 75% of the time the tea does the trick.

LJ....First time posting in a long time, restarted Monday.
