Introduction/Advice needed please

Hello everyone, my name is Amy I live in east central Florida, I have been visiting this board for about a week now and I have been so motivated, you are all a great group of people! I started Induction a little over a week ago, and I must say I feel wonderful! Lots of energy my mind is clear it has been great. I have about 35 pounds to lose. My starting weight was 184, I lost 7 pounds on South Beach then decided to switch to Atkins, I just felt too deprived on SB, and it was just a bit too complicated for me! so when I started atkins my weight was 177.
Here is my concern; I am hoping some of you veteran Atkineers can help me. I weighed myself Friday And I was down to 175 after being on induction for a week, I was really happy as I was not able to break that mark in a long time. However I weighed myself yesterday and I was up a half a pound, so I cut back on the splenda yesterday, Here is what I ate:

Breakfast:2 egg omelet with 1oz cheese(cheddar) ham and pepper
Coffee w 3 packs splenda and 2 tbls cream

Lunch:
6oz tuna w/ 2 tbls mayo
1 cup salad
1 tsp Atkins french dressing

Snack:about 5-6 pork rinds

Dinner: I made a mock potato pancake
1 egg, 1 cup zuccini and 1/4 cup parmesan
2-3 slices no sugar ham
Dessert:cup of herbal tea with a bit of cream and 2 packets of splenda

I drank about 6 cups h20 yesterday, including Dasani flavored water , I also have been taking two tbls of coconut oil a day and 1 tablespoon fish oil.

Well I weighed in this morning just to see if there was a change, and my weight was up again a full pound! It is not even close to my TOM either!
What am I doing wrong? I have been using the keto stix, they have been registering Moderate to large amount of ketones, and I have been excercising daily for at least 30 minutes.
Am I maybe taking in too much fat? I have'nt had any sugar/carb cravings so I am allowing myself to continue with my 1 cup of coffee a day. I would give up by now, except I feel so good! It would be nice to lose weight though. Also I have been a bit.....um....constipated even after ingesting phsyllium (sp) husks, so I thought maybe thats why I have been gaining.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Amy

well the only thing i can see is that you might not be eating enough fat. It looks like you are eating mostly protein... maybe eat some fattier meats and watch the sodium. Good luck amy!

I agree with matt, you need more fat it seems. Try having some cucumbers in ranch or some turkey with mayo for a snack. ALso, did you read the atkins book? Dr. Atkin's say more more than 3 splenda pack a day during induction. This could be the reason, except I dont see how you could have gained weight? Have you been exercising? Also, water is so importnant, you need more. I suggest you read the book. It will help a ton. GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Jackie, yes I did read the book, but it is the start of my second week and it is alot to take in, I must have missed the splenda thing. Well yesterday I increased my fat, and had only 3 packs of splenda. I logged everything I ate into fit day, I came up 8 short in the carbs, but other than that my fat/protein was good.
My calories were over 2000 though, is that a problem ya think? Yes I haver been excercising everyday for at least 30 minutes, sometimes 20, and I have been drinking my water and taking all the recommended supplements, I bought the Atkins 14 day starter pack of supplements. I am so discouraged, like I said I would have throewn in the towl but I really feel so good physically that is reason enough to keep going. The ketostix yesterday registered moderate to large amount of ketones, I have no idea why I am not losing and even gained. I am down 1/2 a pound this morning though so I am encouraged I am not going up still.
Thanks again
Amy

If you feel better that right there is a sign that things are ok. I understand your discouraged, I went throught the same thing. Also, remember that it isnt all about the scale, do you measure? If not make sure to weigh yourself under the same conditions EACH time. I find that if i weight myself before i exercise for example I can weigh up to 3 pounds more than after i am through. Just another suggestion. Your calories arent even an issue here. 2000 is fine for now, if you are uncomfortable with it try to increase exerciswe or cut out 1 thing a day.
