Can someone help or just tell me what to do.....
I've been on Atkins since March 28. Since then the scale hasn't moved nor do my clothes fit any looser. I'm pretty sure I'm following it the way I should be, but, maybe I'm wrong. This is a typical day's menu:
Bkfst: 2 scrambled/2 or 3 slices of bacon and 1 slice of cheese(either swiss or american) Lunch: some kind of protein, either fish, pork, beef,or chicken salad(small) with 1 or 2 tablespoons of oil, or the spray oil Dinner: same as lunch Snack throughout the day: 1 or 2 pieces of string cheese or 10 almonds or 5 macadamia nuts salad(small) with oil spray or oil I do struggle with the water and try to get it in on most days. I've been in ketosis since day 7 of induction, some days the strips are lighter then other days and they range anywhere from a trace to small. I would love to lose 10lbs. and while I do love this WOE, maybe It's just not working for me. Any help or suggestions would be sooo appreciated...Thanks in Advance.... |

Your menu does look good...but here are a few more questions:
How tall are you? How much do you weigh now? Are you at a good weight for your height? (if that is the case, then maybe your body has stablized to its normal weight) And ten pounds...well, they always say it takes the longest for them to come off...it took me 4 months to get mine off...I'm sure there are others here who will tell you it took them probably about a year. I'd say to cut out the nuts and cheese and maybe replace it with something that's not so calorie dense...and if you're not exercising, get some in - even if it's just 3 ten minute walks a day...even if it's just ten minutes to start. And with water...you could do a trick I learned from someone else - if you like tea. Make some hot tea in the mornings, drink 1/2 and then just refill it with hot water and keep on doing this...before you know it, you're drinking hot water but your taste buds won't know the difference between the tea and the water...that's what has helped me get in my water intake for the day. But as I look at your menu, you could be not eating enough as well...it could go both ways for you...I guess you could just do a trial and error to see if you should be eating more than that or less than that...I did that, and it turned out I needed to eat MORE, not less...I keep on telling people that I just have a weird body (and I do!!) Thanks for responding so quickly, Matt. No, I'm not on any types of medications or anything like that. Maybe your right, maybe I should check my caloric intake. I did check my BM or whatever thats called. I think it said to maintain I need to have 1270 calories, so, if I'm understanding it right, do I need to go under that to lose. I'll try at 1100 daily this week and see how that goes.

Hi dae tona, I'm 5'4" and right now I'm around 125lbs. My best weight, one that I feel most comfortable at, is 115lbs. At that weight I feel like I have more energy and am just sooo happy weighing that. I'll try your suggestions, although I already had 1 slice of cheese with my breakfast, I'll not have anymore today. I didn't have any nuts yet, so, I'll skip them also. Can you just explain to me what you meant by "maybe my body stabalized to its normal weight". I have a feeling your going to tell me that I'm stuck at this weight and no matter what I do, it won't change. Again, thanks for the suggestions......

Yeah. That's what I meant. But I, myself, hated being told that - especially when I was working on my last ten pounds. But obviously, my body wasn't done normalizing because I still lost 10 more pounds, but it did take 4 months for it to come off. If you've been 115 lbs before, then I'm sure you could get there again. I have a friend who is your height and got down to 115 pounds (from the 125 lbs) and this is what she did: worked out like a banshee, had a sugar-filled fat-free latte in the mornings, a power bar in the afternoon and a yogurt, apple and small salad in the evening. (I wouldn't advise anyone to do this unless they really want to starve and follow this same plan forever) Talk about minimal food. I don't think I could have ever done that myself. But it did work for her. People told her she was too thin, but she said she felt the healthiest at that weight. (she got pregnant and now that she's done breast feeding, she's working on those last 10 lbs one again) So if 115 is where you feel the best, then just keep moving forward, and I'm sue it will come off. Consistency, patience and diligence is what it takes.
