Has ANYBODY ever had this problem before?

Is there ANYBODY out there like me??? I can't seem to get any answers(except thru prayer) about this "stall" I've been stuck on. I would really treasure any advice that could help me. I am SOOO afraid that I might mess up and loose all that we(me and GOD) have worked so hard for.
I started Atkins back in Nov. 2003 after a gallbladder removal. My starting weight was 220, by Nov. 2004 I was down to 148 PRAISE THE LORD!!! Some weeks I would weigh 148, other weeks I weighed 153 it went back and forth. I was still on induction all this time. Then(after the Holidays) I was up to 162( I about had a breakdown) I prayed my way back to sainty and began double checking my carb count for the "carb creep". I seemed to have stalled. I couldn't loose the weight. Finally I began to exercise more vigorously and really count the 20 carbs or even less. NO LOSE! Then I prayed some more and went up to 25 carbs a day and 1600 calories. That week I lost 2 lbs. Then the next week a couple more, but the third week I was stalled again. I am still stalled no lose in two weeks or more.I am now at 155.5lbs. My goal is 137 ( because God told me in a prayer, that number and I believe). Has anyone been here before? what should I do? I found that the calories add up before the carbs do. Am I doing this wrong or what? I know I should have moved up the ladder but I was being greedy and stayed on induction too long I think. Please help! GOD BLESS! May GOD speed your weight lose.

Try Kimmers three day experiment. It will show you if you are over on hidden carbs. Lots of posts around here on it (meat/egg fast). Many people break a stall with this. Look in the challenge thread or in past amazing posts.
Try cutting fat and calories. Lots of people find they really need to cut down on both when they are closer to goal weight.

I believe that you can't stay on induction too long. Have you read the Atkin's book? I do Southbeach so I'm not sure about Atkin's rules about this, but in SB it states that you should not stay on induction for more than 3 weeks. You can always go back for a week if you find you are stalled, but staying on induction for too long will make your body stop losing, and even store fat. You need to check into this in the Atkin's book.

I would lower your calories and up your carbs some. It seemed to help you start to lose before when you were stalled. Taking a good vitamin may help too.

Also, look at all the weight you have lost!!! Stressing about the last 20 is not going to help. Losing my last 10 took forever and I'm always up and down 2 - 3 depending on the day sometimes!!

I don't think God gave you that number to make you stress about it. I think it is a number He wants you to aim for, having it come at it's own speed.

Shadowzip & Beeb,
Thanks for the advice! I take lots of vitamins, so i don't think I,m deficient anywhere. I have read several Atkins books and they did speak of long term induction. I can't remember if there was a real limit. I know the books stress the importance of moving up the carb ladder though. I would look back in the books but, I let others borrow them and haven't seen hide nor hair of any of the books since. Everyone kept asking me about my weight loss so i thought it would be good to share the knowledge. Believe it or not, Beeb, I was just looking at that thread about Kimmer's idea for the meat/egg fast. I'm seriously thinking about it. i can do anything for 3 days. I just wonder what will happen when i go back to my usual carb count afterwards.
I REALLY appreciate the two of you taking the time to help me out. GOD BLESS!!!

I know Atkin's followers don't usually advocate counting calories, but I just broke a month-long stall by keeping my calories at about 1200 a day. Even Dr. Atkins said that the last 10 lbs could take up to a year to lose! Now that you're smaller, you need to eat less...Some people continue to overload on proteins and that keeps the weight on....

Hope this helps!

First of all, your weight loss is fantastic. I would suggest that you lose your scales for a few days. If you worry about how much you weigh too much, this will cause stress and therefore you quit losing. This is form my own experience. I use to have to weigh every day and I would be upset if I didn't lose. LOL Also do watch how many calories you consume.

la Lady & Melle's Sweatheart,
I haven't been counting calories. I need to try that again. I think I'm gonna start the meat/egg challenge for 3 days tomorrow. maybe that will break the stall. I know your right about the worrying. I have just been PLAQUED by obesity all my life and this is the first time I,ve weighed 155.5 since the 3rd grade LOL! I just don't want it to get out of control again, You know? Thanks Ladies and may GOD bless and speed your weight loss!

Hi Aggie!

Congratties on your weight loss. You are doing great! I think Atkins said if you had alot to loose you could stay on induction for up to a year. I have a suggestion for you, you may already be doing it, but if not, it's to check out Fitday. It's an online program that is free. You put in the foods you eat each day and it tells you how many carbs, calories, fat and protein you've had for the day. I found it to be one of the most important things for me to do. It really helps you stay on track, and after you use it for awhile you begin to see trends. ie, what you were eating when you were losing and what you were eating when you stalled or gained. It also has an area where you can track your weight, a mood diary. Nice graphs and stuff. Sometimes it helps to have it in living color. Hope this helps a bit. Wishing you the best!

Love and stuff,
Chris

You know, two weeks without a loss is not really a stall. Sometimes we just have to be patient. I think you will probably have to watch your calories and maybe lower them a bit. I know that is what I have had to do. Keep praying and stay on track, and the weight will come off.

MammaC & Galoutofdixie,

i will keep Prayin'! and patience is definitly a virtue. I know if i keep trudgen' along it will come off. I know that i have been on induction for over a year now. I hope i haven't ruined my metabolism so that i won't be able to loose. I started that 3 day meat/egg experiment today. People have been reporting great success. maybe it will give me a jumpstart and then i can move up the carbladder from there, like i should have done in the first place. Both of you have had remarkable weightloss! Did either of you experience any stalls? Thanks for the love!! GOD BLESS!!
