ketosis

i'm a little confused. several of us are doing atkins and we all bought the ketosis test strips. my friend do theirs in the morning and are normally in the pink however i'm never in the pink in the mornings but always in the dark pink at night .am i doing something wrong? what does this mean?

Ketosis levels fluctuate. It doesn't mean anything more than that. Some people never turn the sticks any color at all. There are other ways to tell if you're in ketosis: weird breath, thirst (drink your water!), smelly urine, lack of hunger, etc. These signs vary from person to person and tend to subside as you move up the carb ladder.

Personally, I have never used those sticks. They're a tool... not a progress gauge so don't stress over them too much.

If you want to keep using the sticks, I believe Dr. Atkins only recommends testing at the same time everyday... and I think he suggested after dinner time.

I know this is gross but ive also found that "how" you pee on them affects the color IMO. If I just run it through the streem I get a darker color, if I hold it in the streem I get a lighter color............Don't ask me why, it just seems to always happen.
