General Question

OK I have done this diet before and it worked great. Infact I am doing it right now and I have lost 7lbs in the last week since starting induction.

My friend is trying to do it, she has had to start over a few times do to cheating but she finally started over a few days ago and bought the ketostix and she has been in Ketosis for 3 full days and lost anything. She is very concerned that she isn't going to lose anything with this diet. Is that possible. How come I am losing faster than her, we are both pretty over weight for our height. Why is my body responding faster than hers? Could it be from her starting over so many times?

Thanks in Advance

Erika

My advice is to throw out the keto strips, they are not always right. Tell her not to get discouraged, this way of eating works and she will see results soon enough and when she does she will keep her motive. From my experience I do tend to take longer to lose than most.

I've been on this WOE for two months, and besides water weight have lost nothing. However, I feel better than ever. My big goal has changed to over all health as opposed to weight loss. I still want to lose the weight, but I have to be confident in the knowledge it will come. Everyone is different when it comes to weight loss, and there are a lot of things that could be effecting her weight loss. Atkins writes a whole chapter on metabolic resistance. She might want to look into possible causes. I suspect birth control and my hormones were the root of my problem. I trust this way of eating and that eventually the past damages will be corrected.

Since New Years up until two weeks ago I've cheated here and there and even when I wasn't in ketosis I managed to lose a pound or two but it always fluctuated back. So I never truly lost I just maintained. I became sick of this and began exercising. I'm gaining muscle and of course the scale tipped upward. I bought ketostix and have managed to get into ketosis. And the scale is not budging but guess what my clothes are! Please tell your friend to try the three day M/E and drink lots of water and be patient. My metabolism is slow from the years of yo-yo dieting but I don't throw the towel. My bestfriend who is male lost a total of 65lbs in 8 months...I've yet to accomplish that but we both supported one another and recognize that our chemistry and bodies are very different. Help your friend by keeping journals and help her be patient. She'll thank you in the long run. ;-)

if ur friend just got back on track a few days ago then she is following induction? does she have the book? do u know if she is eating any conveince foods as in bars and shakes? How about frankenfoods? she needs to follow induction correctly and STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE till the end of induction process. after she has put in her 2 weeks then have her weigh and im sure she will be pleasently surprised
