Vitamin supplement
Hello! I am on week 2 of induction. 2nd time around. I'll admit right up front I need to find my book and read it again. My question today has to do with the vitamins that I just bought. I bought One A Day CarbSmart. Is that enough to keep me healthy while changing my habits? Also, on a different note, what can one do to keep, well, 'regular'?
Thanks for your time! ![]() |

A multivitamin isn't what's going to keep you healthy, changing your eating habits is what's going to keep you healthy. Induction is the most restrictive phase of the Atkins Nutritional Approach, so it is possible you may be temporarily missing out on some vitamins and minerals while you are consuming 20 g of carbs a day. But as you begin to add 5 g of carbs a week and continue adding until you find your ACE, you'll come closer to meeting all of your vitamin and nutrient requirements. Continuing to take the multivitamin is a good idea even when you are in Maintenance. You don't want to think of taking a multivitamin as a way to get your vitamins and minerals. You get nutrients from whole foods, multivitamins only supplement the diet. Most multivitamins are very similar. The one a day carbsmart is a good choice.
