BMR vs Starvation mode

Was wondering if anyone could help me.

My Basal Metabolic Rate is 1625
My lifestyle calories burned daily is 325

so ...I understand that I need 1950 calories just to maintain my weight....my question is this....do I want to keep my caloric intake from 1625 to 1925 if I want to lose weight?

I am very worried about puting my body into the starvation mode... can someone please help me or point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Valerie

Sounds about right to me based on what I've read also. My BMR is around 1380 so I'm aiming for 1500 calories to try to lose. They also say to substract amount of calories burned with any kind of exercise you might do too.

vowl-i've always wondered about the proverbial "starvation mode". after doing some research on fasting, which is almost zero calories depending on what type of fast you go on, your body won't go into "starvation mode" until about 30 days of just fasting on water. starvation mode being that of your body using up live cells/tissue in order to function/survive.

other research i've done, you can safely reduce your calories to 200 above your BMR without causing ill effects to your metabolism. so if your BMR is 1625, you should be good at 1825

btw-i went on a 21 day juice fast, (using a juicer and making my own fresh juices) i lost 8 pounds (a lot for me as i'm small boned and never lost weight any other way) and maintaining. no starvation mode going on here.
