Can triglycerides be too low?
Just wondering. I have never had elevated chol. or tri. levels BUT my triglycerides has dropped quite a bit. Last year they were 100, then down to 90, last summer 50. I have no idea what they are now but optimal is 150. So can they be too low? My chol. is 160 with a low LDL and a high HDL don't remember the exact numbers. thanks!

Extremely low triglycerides levels (less than 10 mg/dL) can indicate a problem. Low levels may indicate malnutrition (not enough nutrients in the diet), malabsorption (inadequate absorption of nutrients in the intestinal tract), a diet too low in fat, or an overactive thyroid problem. Unless your doctor is concerned about your level, I wouldn't worry.
