Induction Phase says ABSOLUTELY no Fruit, Nuts or Seeds.
However the new Granola Bars contail all three and they say the are good for ALL PHASES. Is this a Conflict or are they ok ?? The Pita's too. |

Well I always say avoid the "franken Foods" and stay natural more. I know AN will say it's ok for induction.. yada yada yada, BUT to me it is like the kiss of Death Dr A always talked about. Once in awhile- like 1 time a week will not harm you, but what you are trying to do is learn new eating habits, not eating like you used to but with products that lack carbs.

well i gotta say i am actually trying to eat better but am replacing my old vices with newer lower carb ones,
for some people this is just how it has to work, its good to try to learn new eating habits but very hard for some , and with the way low carb foods are going today it makes it a bunch easier so these frankenfoods which get a real bad rap may not be the perfect choice, but to me they seem to be the lesser of the evils i try to make most of my snacks at home so i know basically what has gone in them but with a sharp eye for the labels its easy to see which ones are definately not the real deal and which ones are my 2 cents on frankenfoods i eat em more than 1 time a week for sure, my body seems to handle them well |

I eat the bars a few times a week. The new Peanut Butter Granola bars taste like Rice Krispie treats. I know I should eat more natural foods, but I am disabled ( severe arthritis) and what I eat depends on how my body is at the time I eat. I do notice if I try to eat more than 1 aday I tend to stall in my weight loss.

I am always stressing that whole foods should be central to your meal planning. Carbohydrate controlled products of your favorite treats and snacks are available so that you do not feel restricted on this way of eating, and meal replacements are available to hold you over when you do not have time to prepare a meal. But they should be used on occasions.
The amounts of fruit, nuts, and seeds in Atkins products are so minimal and would never by itself interfere with weight loss. They are included to maintain quality and taste. But they can intefere with weight loss if not properly included into meal planning. |
