Bread

I have 5lbs to go for my goal weight. I have lost 80 lbs. Bread scares me as for gaining weight, but I love it dearly. Could someone recommend a white or wheat that is not so bad?

I like the Aunt Millies wheat bread. I'm not sure which one it is but it has 4 net carbs per slice. They also have one with 7 net carbs per slice, so read the package. I make BLT's with cheese on it or have peanut butter on it. Yum! It tastes like regular wheat bread.

Rudi's Organic Bakery makes some awesome low carb bread that is 4 grams per slice. You can find it at Whole Foods with all the breads. I don't know what I'd do without the stuff!

I eat Wonder Wheat. It's 7g, and 40calories for 1 slice. No problems losing if I eat a bit.

Pepperidge Farm also has a CarbStyle bread that is anywhere from 4-6 carbs per slice, depending on the flavor. They are delish!

If you want to try some gourmet style ow carb bread and don't mind spending slightly more every now and then....if you have a Panera near you, they have 3 or 4 varieties of low car bread from 4-6 carbs. I bought a few loaves recently and froze them..since I don't eat bread often I didn't want them to go bad.

There IS hope for us bread addicts, I assure you!

You want to choose a whole wheat bread with the highest fiber content but also the lowest number of Net Carbs. It is a great idea to start incorporating bread into your meal planning now, so that after you reach your goal, you will know what type and in what amounts will allow you to maintain your goal weight.

I don't know if you have it in your area or not, but we like Home Pride. They make white and wheat, but we like the white best. They are both 6 net carbs a slice.

I found a really good wheat made by Village Hearth, it was 7 grams per slice. Love those sandwiches, having a hard time without them. I limit myself to 4 slices of this bread a week, freezing the rest of the loaf in baggies of 4 slices each.
