Two shakes and a sensible meal..........

Do you suppose it would work with protein shakes instead of low-fat "weight loss" shakes?

I usually add half and half or cream to the shakes to make them more filling......and........new research shows that Vit D from an actual DAIRY source is helpful to weight loss efforts. (I know it's a strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrretch, but what the hey!) AND, being a type II diabetic, I am not supposed to have a whole lot of protein, so adding the cream helps that way too.

It worked for me, but after about 6 weeks, I wanted real food! But if you want a quick fix, it did work. It's about portion control for me.

Francine is right! What you are describing is a ‘diet’ and does not teach you how to develop the personal meal planning that will help you lose weight and keep it off. And it would get rather repetitive! It could ‘work’ using protein shakes because you are controlling portion size and are likely eating less calories from the shakes than you would at those meals. But this is not what the Atkins Nutritional Approach, or any way of eating, is about. You want to learn about food, but also still enjoy it while finding the meal planning that works for you.
